Pee pad holders Hi YT'ers I need help with a puppy that is shredding the pads....do the holders work or do they still shred the pads. I see one style on Petco are there any other styles that you have had any success with? Thanks |
If I use a holder mine don't shre the pad. |
I have the Ugodog. No pee paws or paper shreds. |
I use a washable pad with mine until they get older and don't have as much of an interest in shredding paper. Actually, I only use washables for all of mine now... |

One of my girls thought it was fun to shred the pee pads (she also thought it was fun to swim in her water bowl in the middle of the night...not me!) so I bought a tray from Petco and that solved the problem. I tried the washable pads and they started thinking my smaller rugs were pads too (since they were soft fabric under their feet) so I did away with them...now that they are all grown up I just lay a disposable pad at the back door during the night and if we leave for the day and they don't distroy it anymore. I didn't throw the washable pads out though, I use them on the seat of the car when we take the girls with us...they protect the seats from accidents, car sick babies and wet or dirty feet :) |
PA mom what brand holder do you use? I've seen one at Petco, where do you get the Ugodog? |
The holder worked great for Heidi when she was a puppy. She did the same thing - scratch them all up, or they would slide and not stay where they were suppose to. Now days I just use the rewashable ones. |
After one day of trying to used peep pads without a frame I went out and purchased a frame like holder from Walmart. It is the kind that goes with the "Out" brand disposable pads and is a light brown color. I noticed our local Walmart is now stocking another brand along with Out that is a bit more expensive. I don't like the frame that goes with that particular brand. I haven't used it but it does not look as secure. The frame that Out brand has is a frame that has another frame that comes down over the bottom frame and holds the pad securely. Once I started using that holder I had no more problems. |
I use the brand Hartz. Usually buy them at CVS or Freds. They are much sturdier than the ones I use to get at Wal-mart. I think I get the 50 pack for $9.99. And my baby doesn't shred these! Good luck! :) |

We have used the puppy pad holders for almost 15 yrs, they work for our 2 little four pound yorkies. And now that the older one is completely blind, the holder border guides her to go within the pad with no mistakes. |
