The first day when I was cuddling Snowflake, I had him sit and stay about 3 feet away from us. It worked for about a minute then he kept trying to interfere with our time, so I told him 'no, sit, and stay' he obliged for another minute, then he was at it again. So this time I gave him a stern 'no' and told him to sit and stay. Like the other time he listened for about a minute. So, the last time he tried to interfere I told him 'no' and stomped my feet... That seemed to have done the trick. His first reaction was to back up a little and look at me as if to say "what'd you do that for?" But then he just sat and stared at me. I used this as my oportunity to go back and cuddle with Snow, and low and behold Max just layed down and watched. (That stomping trick really helps!!! I recommend it!) The second day, he tried to interefere about two times before I did the stomping, and after that he just left us alone and took a nap... I'm not saying he's completely cured of his bullying habits, but I'll continue to work with him. Thanks guys so, so much!! :) |
