Kiss-E collars for training?? I have had to order each of my girls a KissE collar withing the last couple of months. No more "cone of shame", they actually like their collars and aren't "upset" wearing them like they are the big ol plastic cone of shame. So when Mia had her spay and was wearing hers I noticed how after the pain and meds wore off, a week after surgery...I would take it off for short periods (she was a licker so had to keep on) she would calm right the heck down...so I seized the opportunity to train her some tricks, amazingly when she has her collar on she calms and focuses....hmmmmm, I now use it for training her and for those times when her and Miss Mini are really having spats...I put them on both of them and voila' they are soon snuggling together or just following me around, together. They don't mind it and it just brings them to focus. Just thought I would share this. I have taught Miss Mia the hyperspastic pup, how to roll over, give paw, high five, down, stay and kissy face! Thanks to the KissE collar. If I try to train her without it, well I can't, cuz she won't focus unless I have it on her! |
Wow. So many benefits with one little cone. That's awesome! |
I went over to my Mom's today and her neighbor has a out of control pomeranian, I gave her Miss Mia's collar to try, she txt me a little while ago and told me it was wonderful for training! Almost like a Thundershirt!! |
Cool! Makes sense to me! Great job! |
wanted to drag this up to say I've been using the cone to train Vinnie too...he is a very good boy, really good...but training he gets distracted so I put Mia's cone on him and same thing ATTENTION....I have to order some more next paycheck... |
;) Oh, I love hearing all the different uses that everyone finds for the Kiss-E Collars. One of reasons that I wound up naming it Kiss-E is because I found out that when Hot Rod had the collar on, I would get tons of kisses. I couldn't decide if he just wanted to thank me for not making him wear one of those awful plastic one things or if he just was so focused on me that he couldn't stop kissing me. :) :D Either way, I loved getting all those kisses. The other reason I called it Kiss-E was I've always been told to "keep it simple, sweetie!" And thusly, the Kiss-E Collar was named. Let me know when your ready for your new collars. Would love it if everyone shared their stories on FB on the Kiss-E Collar page. Thanks! Bo |
I'm so buying two! Poor Teddy had a terrible grooming experience and they irritated his skin.....I was wishing I had one of these to keep him from irritating it even more. Thank you for this thread! |
Hmmmmm.....I wonder if one of these would help in grooming Jasper? Obviously I would have to take it off at some point, but the majority would be done. I think it might be worth a try. Thanks for posting this thread Lynzy!! :) |

We haven't had a medical need for one recently, thankfully, but we have used ours for keeping ears warm on cold winter walks. Lynzy, I think I will try training in them too. :) |
Wow I never thought of using them for training, how brill! I use them for grooming, can't clip nails w/out the kiss-e collar...it helps conceal the torture devices loll. |
When I put Callie's on she just looks at me like uhhh I'm pathetic feel bad for me. I never had to use it but I bought it when she was going to have her knee surgery but Callie never licks her wounds if she moves toward it I can tell her no and she stops and doesn't do it again it was like that when she got spayed too. |
