Vomiting My yorkie vomits frequently, and I am at a loss to find out why. I have had many expensive tests performed by the vet, given her low fat food and even tried Benadryl, which helped for a while. Anyone with a similar problem and/or suggestions? Maggie is one year old and is otherwise in good health. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...c/progress.gif |
Well it sounds like an internal medicine specialist is needed now. When the general vets can't find the problem, then it is time for the experts. Have your vet make the referral, and submit all the health diagnostic testing that they have performed to the specialist. I'm assuming that a Bile Acids Test was done and it came back normal? I wish you the best and hopefully that specialist will be able to help you get to the bottom or source of the problem. |

vet school, if no specialist are readily available... |
How much vomiting are we talking? What is she doing when it happens? More description would be helpful, please. What tests has your vet done exactly? Does she do this right after eating, before eating? Does she eat fast? Maybe a slowfeeder bowl would be helpful. My Mini has this problem, shes been checked for everything 10x over. She takes Pepcid and Sucralfate everyday. She just has a sensitive system. You say your pup is healthy otherwise? So you might want to talk to your vet about some simple solutions like the Pepcid and Sucralfate; that is, If everything else has been ruled out... |
A little more information would be helpful. When does she throw up? Before eating or after? Is it foamy and yellow? My Zoey will throw up when her tummy is empty. The vet told me not to let her go too long without something in her stomach. It has worked. We never get to sleep in because she will vomit if not fed by 7:45 am. |
