Brandi is getting an ultrasound My poor baby has to get an ultrasound tomorrow. Here's a link that I posted under sick and injured. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ue-brandi.html It seems it's getting worse and the vets can't figured out whats going on. I am so hoping the ultrasound reveals what could be causing her issues. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I can't stand seeing her in so much discomfort. The vet gave me some buprenex to help with the pain in the short term but I hate giving it to her. I will give her less than .5 ml because it is so powerful but when she goes through these episodes, they can last for hours and it is the only thing that can calm her down. So I am praying the ultrasound will finally give us a diagnosis. |
Oh my goodness:( I hope it's nothing serious! Poor baby! Sending good thoughts your way:love: |
I didn't see your post in Sick & Injured until now. I am sorry your Brandi is going through this...and especially since the vet has not been able to find anything. I glanced at your first post from the link you included and the first thing that popped into my mind from the description of her discomfort is that it sounds like what DH does with kidney stones. Then I saw that she has recurrent UTI's. I am not certain about kidney stones in dogs, but I know of other dogs that have recently had bladder stones removed...all of whom had recurrent UTI's but some of them had no symptoms. Did the vet check for stones? Have you heard of the benefits of coconut oil? |
I didn't see it either until now. I'm sorry for sweet Brandi is going through this, hope they can find what's going on and get her feeling much better. Sending prayers for Brandi. |

That's actually what the vet is hoping the ultrasound will find out. Thankfully the ultrasound is non invasive and painless but it is expensive. We are hoping it reveals bladder stones...she's getting a bladder ultrasound. |

Thank you. I hate seeing her like this. I feel so helpless and I don't know what to do when she is going through these "episdoes". Other than the episodes, she displays no other symptons.....that is what is so frustrating. Everything else is okay. Eating, pottying, and pooping are all normal. Bloodwork, urine, poop all came back okay. Even the xrays came back okay. I have a video that I will show the vet tomorrow. Maybe seeing her behavior can help in the diagnosis. |

X-rays do not show all stones, especially if there is no calcium in the stones. There are 5 kinds of bladder stones...in humans, there are at least 3 kinds of kidney stones, if I correctly recall (from 8-10 years ago...lol) and only 1 type has calcium. DH's stones were not revealed in x-rays...he had an MRI...also $$$$...lol, I think, but the x-rays were clean. |
Sending up prayers that you get an answer for Brandi ... |
