Adult size Is there any way to tell if your dogs going to be big or small? My Presley is 4 and a half months and around 4 and a half pounds. He seems small framed.I don,t know if you can tell by photoes. Its too late now in any case of course. But I have a medical condition, and I won,t be able to lift him if he gets too heavy. |
You take the 12 week weight and double it and you get an estimate of adult weight but some yorkies undergrow that and some over grow it. What did the parents weigh? |

hi , it is hard to say for sure cause all yorkie grow at different rates. I doubt that he will get so big you won't be able to lift him . my boy is 8 months old and weighs 7 1/2 lbs here are a couple pics of him . one current & one of him @ 4 months |
Hello and welcome, well if he does get a little heavy, get a low sitting chair and he will be up there with ya....ya love em no matter their size. |
Well, it seems he may not be tiny by any means but dogs are great at jumping usually and hopefully you can take him to a groomer for bathing. Although I love all dogs I knew I needed a smaller sized dog because of a back injury I have been dealing with for the past few years. I was thinking 8 or 9 pounds would be great but Gracie turned out to be 5 pounds and it took her quite a while to achieve that weight. That was really a bit smaller than I was used to dealing with. She was sure she was a 50 pounder! It has turned out OK though. It seems we have seen many new owners lately who have said their puppies have gotten bigger than they expected. |
