My old man Georgie is almost 7 and had his dental appointment today. He hasn't had a dental in a couple of year since last year he had surgery to repair his AAI . He had to have 8 teeth extracted. I feel so bad that he is missing 8 teeth (his incisors). When we lifted his lip up he looks like an old man....a cute old man at that. His breath smells soooo much better!!:)I am happy to say he is doing great and has already ate some soft food. I just want to remind everyone to get the cleanings done or you will have a toothless old dude like me LOL;) |
Thanks for the reminder. I cannot believe Georgie is 7 years old!! He looks like a puppy to me with his sweet little face. Poor baby! |
I know I can't believe he is almost 7 either. Seems like just yesterday we brought him home. When they called and said 8 teeth I was like oh goodness. I picked him up and he has no front teeth LOL They said he doesn't use those to chew thank goodness! |
Bless his heart, he sure is cute one, love that sweet face. |

Glad he is home and doing good |
Georgie will be fine. He will feel better when he's healed. |
I'm so glad his dental went good, yay Georgie! I bet you were waiting for that phone call that he "did great"; what a good boy. I bet he wears his toothless-by-8 smile very adorably . Hugs to the little fella, and thanks for a good reminder! |
Aw poor Georgie! Bless his heart! Glad everything went well- the dentals are always hard to deal, so stressful!! At least he is healthier- I stay up on Pnuts dentals because I know how bad Yorkies teeth are! Wow 7 years old? He looks good for almost 7 he is such a little cutie- missing teeth and all!! |
That's a good sign that he's eating already! Glad he did well! |
Glad he had his dental and is doing well. My old guy Nikki had all his teeth removed (he was a rescue who was seriously neglected) he felt so much better after he healed and he eats kibble and hard treats just like my girls. |
Hope Georgie is coming along, does this mean no more Bully Sticks?:D |
Thanks everyone:) You wouldn't even know he had 8 teeth extracted. He has been eating and playing since he came home! I feel bad because his teeth were bad but last year we couldn't do anything with his other issues:( |
Im glad his dental went okay. Thanks for the reminder Chachi needs to go in and its his first dental so he may have a few removed too hes 6. They never said he needed one before but on his last visit they said he did. Jewels is probably in need of one too. I dont mind paying for them I just dont like to put them under |

Georgie is quite adorable. You couldn't even tell he's toothless :) Dan the exact opposite... he has all of his baby teeth on his upper jaw but you couldn't even tell by looking at him! |

Brandi is completely toothless (rescued). There are some benefits to not having any teeth like her the tip of tongue is always sticking out (so freakin cute) and no bad breath:D Unless Brandi opens her mouth, you can't really tell she doesn't have any teeth. She's just as cute as ever. |
A great product out there called Leba III, just spray it in the mouth. Recommended it to a friend who never brushed her Yorkies teeth EVER. After a week the black build up on her back teeth fell off. Now she just uses it for maintenance |

Jack was missing most of his teeth for the 3 years I owned him, and he never had any problems with his appetite. He just swallowed his kibble. A lot of it is genetics, so don't beat yourself up. |
