Better Bath Time I gave Penny a bath on Monday, and she did not do well with it. She shook all over for over an hour and scared me to death! Well she needed a bath again today. I want to only give her a bath once a week, but she likes to cuddle in bed and snuggle with everyone, and she was just plain stinky. So bath time again. This time I did not use the kitchen sink, and I did not take her for a walk first. I heated up the bathroom, and got the water warm for her. Got the towel and shampoo ready. She did not love the bath. She trembled minimaly in the bath, but not violently like before. She trembled a little when I got her out, but I sat with her for a bit, and then got another towel to make sure she was dry. She did not tremble for more than a minute this time. I brushed her just a bit and put her down. She had the puppy rips for a while and then rolled all over the rug in the TV room (which needs to be vacuumed). So I went in the front room where she spends most of her time, and where her puppy pads are. I sat down to write this and she peed on the rug- a foot from her puppy pad! You can't tell me she did that on accident, she was looking right at me as she did it... Oh well, this too shall pass...she is a little stinker!:animal36 |
Yes, my little stinker has done the same thing, but my Miss Priss doesn't seem to mind a bath. Ya never know what they will do next. |
Glad the bath went better:D They are such little stinkers but she will get better with potty training;) |
^^ i agree |
Hehehehe . . . ! :) Yes, she is a little stinker. I'm glad the bath got better. Tatiana did something similar to me. When I brought her back from the vet, she climbed onto the sofa AND pee'd on it. She did NOT like the vet visit, and she let me know! Tatiana was four years, and fully pee-pad trained. |
My miss mia is like a cat in water...tried everything still a lunatic! Miss mini is sick again and vet told me to let her soak in Epsom bath she loved it |

Gracie gets a weekly bath. At first you would have thought she was being tortured every time it was so pathetic. The more we did it the more she adjusted to it. I recently purchased one of these: Rinse Ace 3-Way Pet Faucet Sprayer at PETCO This sprayer has 3 speeds so I can have a slow amount coming out when I do her face. It gets the job done so much more quickly and i get everything rinsed out of her fur easily. I use it on my kitchen sink as that is the best place for me to bathe her. I wrap her right up in warm towels and comb her out as I sit in the living room. When her coat is combed out I blow her dry and we are set. What used to take a good hour now takes about 20 to 30 minutes tops. She doesn't even get a chance to get cold but i always turn up the heat before bath time anyway |
