Crying :(. I just read a thread in sick and injured about a little one who was found and didn't make it. It made me cry because I watch for little lost dogs alot and try to find owners and I have been watching our local craigslist and there are so many missing pets. There is a lady near us who's little yorkie has been missing for months and she posts every time they let her. It is just beyond me how people can find these little ones and not try to locate their owners :(. Not saying the OP didn't I mean in general. Someone took our sons boxer in December and we have never given up searching for her and hoping for her return. Sorry I just needed to get this off my chest. |
I also find it upsetting that someone would take a dog to the vet for at least a check as soon as they found them let alone if the dog was sick. |
I completely agree we have taken several that we have found. Our vet doesn't even charge us for bringing them in and checking for the chip. |

I dont even go there....sick and injured....nothing I can do for those babies and it does nothing but break my heart....my motto: "If it hurts, dont do it"......... |
Sick and injured is always tough to read and comment. It's heart breaking to see sick dogs and sometimes neglectful owners who don't do things as we would. I have cried rivers of tears reading that forum so I know how you feel. |
Try to be gentle. Those in the S&I are already stressed out. Sometimes they just need ideas, a little support and a friendly ear. Most of them do everything they can to help their pets. Some of us are a little more fortunate than others and can do more for our own. It doesn't mean they neglect care. It means that their resources are dry. That doesn't make them bad people. They still love their dog. |
Sometimes you have to walk away from some of those posts. Some of them defy any logic you could try to apply. We must also remember that not everything we read on this forum is real. I find myself praying for the poor pups a lot because there is nothing else that can be done. I am not going to sit and pat someone on the back for doing something that is not in the best interest of a pup and since I don't want to be suspended or banned, I often walk and simply pray for the poor defenseless animals. Sad thing is many people are liars and some are here to make their point...gotta love when they come on and tell people HOW to post before they even state their problem. Then we have people who get on these threads and tell everyone else how to behave...it all ends up being a circus that could be avoided. |

Ladyjane I go there to make a prayer list for these little ones and it is like you said so heartbreaking at times. I try not to comment on the posts very often because I am by far from an expert on yorkie health issues. I am very thankful for those on here who are able to help. |

It is hard to read the S&I section sometimes... I know I have picked up a lot of stray dogs and the first thing I do is take them to be scanned. I've been lucky so far, and only one animal that I've picked up has been sick... A kitten that was sitting in the middle of the road with its sibling had its eyes completely shut due to infection. A vet tech at my vet took them both in and found them great homes. However, if an animal that you take in is injured or sick... You have to take it to the vet, not let it suffer and die in your care :( |
