Bath time! How often? I bathe Prince Charms about 1 time per week. That was working for us since he wasnt walking in public places due to him only being 4 months old and just getting his last required set of shots recommended by the vet before I let him walk outdoors. Today was his first time outdoors on a leash and I swear he was sniffing everything and had grass all over his face. I was like omg he is getting himself so dirty. When It was time to come inside I already had my mind set that he would need a bath. I am wondering does anyone else feel the need to bathe their Fur baby ever time they go outside or is it just me????? Prince was upset with the gesture since I had just bathed him about 2 days ago while we were away on a mini vacation. Overall im wondering is there any limits on bath time? |
I would not bathe a dog every time they went outside that would be to much. I bathe Callie once a week and use sensitive baby wipes for her face, feet and privets every night. |
Ok.... Thanks I was wondering. Prince is our first pet so I'm still learning. I love him so much. Just don't want to neglect him in any way. I will definately use wipes on non bath days. I like the 1 time per week bath time routine. |

ZoE usually gets bathed once a week. During the winter we've pushed it to as much as two weeks if she's still be smelling fresh, and I've also given more than one bath per week if she's especially stinky or dirty. She sleeps in my bed, so she's got to be clean. Usually after walks or a trip to the dog park, I wipe her feet & face. But sometimes for I don't know what reason...maybe after a rain & dampness in the air? she seems to pick up smells more, so that calls for an extra bath. |

I bath Millie once a week, but I wash her face around her eyes everyday with wipes |
I typically bath Jack once a week unless he gets into something that he shouldn't - but he rarely does since he won't go outside when its raining. He will go out in the snow, but stays on the sidewalks. We have a pretty big yard and he doesn't get into any dirt, so once a week with the occasional extra bath for stinky/dirty occasions. |
I usually bathe mine once a week, especially when their coats are grown out. I use wipes and just plain wet washcloths for touch ups in between. If I have them shaved down, I've gone as much as two weeks between baths, but that's few and far between. :) |
Jackson gets a bath about once a week or once every 2 weeks depending. And he's outside every day, and has been since 9 weeks old, lol. He's all outdoor trained, so literally every day of his life he's outside at some point. But nahh I never notice him smelling or anything (of course, unless he rolls in something digusting, LoL - then he WILL get a bath, and that does happen!!) |
Thanks for the tip of baby wipes! |

Miss Priss is bathed once a week and each time she goes out I use a baby wipe on her teetee and her bum when she does the #2 since I don't like dingle-berries and they bother her too. Now Yoshi, my Pekingese is great with his once a month grooming with the groomer. But Miss Priss has her monthly grooming, but she needs a weekly bath. Now what is a mother to do? I keep them clean and fresh. LOL |
Ya'll don't think I'm nuts...but I use "Boogie Wipes" from the children's cold medicine section. They are saline wipes for tender noses, but they don't irritate Tyson's face at all, especially since I have to wipe real close to his eyes. |
