Good Luck!!!!!! :d |
Yep...it's a puppy cut....all of my boys get cut like this. It's very cute, yet still "masculine" ;) |

Thanks everyone :) !! I had dreams of letting it grow and pulling it up in a topknot...even bought boy bows...but Piper HATES having his hair up :( . I don't know if his coat will thicken up with age but I think it's too thin to do it with anyway. Piper will rub his head all over the place until the topknot is totally messed up or my Boxer will help him out and pull it off for him so I'm to the point where I just want to see my baby's face. I figure it'll always grow back if I want to try again in the future ;) |

that's a puppy cut, but print the pic and take it to your groomer and let them know that'sthe length you want it b/c a puppy cut can be MANY MANY things! |
Ive now worked at two different grooming shops and watched a handful of groomers. Although its pretty much the same, there are alot of variations to the puppy cut or the teddy bear cut. The best thing to do like everyone else said is to bring it in to the groomer. And you should try grooming him yourself (after holiday picture time). I know its scary at first, because you dont want to mess it up. But I figured out that, since im so picky about what I want and dont want cut on my Yorkie, the only way to get what I want is to do it myself. Especially after a groomer cut off 5-6 inches off hair when I instructed her not to. |

I agree that you should print it out and show it to the groomer. My groomer always listens carefully and I show her pictures. Cookie just got that cut the only thing that I asked her to do differently is to leave his "topknot" hair long. You can clearly see his eyes and the topknot looks great. She shaves almost all the hair on the bridge of his nose , it looks beautiful!Last time I had him groomed I showed her a picture of one of the Yorkie models from GWLittle catalogs. Genie |
I think a Teddy bear cut and Puppy cut is sort of the same thing. All the hair on their face is cut short. Cookie had the "puppy cut" once but he doesnt like when I got him. Even though his hair was always pretty silky it was fluffier and it looked cute. Now if they cut ittoo short his hair is super straight/silky so it doesnt look like a teddybear. Genie |
I am a dog groomer at a Petsmart salon. I specialize in Yorkies, when you make an appointment at your salon, ask if there is a groomer who does Yorkies. You can ask for references from other clients too! Quote:
