Belly bands? Hey all I was curious if any of you all have used belly bands on your yorkie makes to keep them from marking? I know this topic was discussed before, but I can't get the search button to work( I'm on my iPhone viewing YT). Can anyone give insight into whether this works and where to purchase these? Thanks!! |
I don't have any males, but lots of people do use them. Neutering should help this though. This is the best place to get them. Our fellow member 107barney makes them.:) Washable and reusable dog and puppy pee pads, belly bands, and diapers by T. Bumpkins & Co. |
I use them now and then. And love them. I had a problem with Riley for awhile but with these and working with him glad to say its much better. I love the t bumpkin ones. The first one I ever bought had elastic. I hated it and it was not comfortable for Riley. But these have no elastic and wash up beautifully. |
My studs all wear them around the house....they stand politely while I put them on. I put a doggie diaper folded back on itself until it looks like a sanitary pad, inside the belly band...doggie diapers are very absorable and keep them drier than sanitary pads....I check them and change them as necessary...I use a baby wipe between changes, just to keep that little man part clean and fresh and dry....I also make sure we go outside for potty breaks several times a day....they usually dont pee that much in their pads....just little dribbles, from "marking" behavior. |
Thanks all. Yeah I am going to try these. Otherwise I may go insane from his behavior. I have tried to break him of it but without luck! |

From this and previous posts I have decided to try these out- my gizzy is turning 6 months so I think the marking has started...he is trying to lift his leg but falls over ...lol |
Aw that brings back memories! My little dex used to fall over when he was a baby, but believe me they master the balancing act quickly! Hopefully these work. Did you all just use like a fabric measuring tape and measure the circumference of their waist? He's just under 4 lbs so I'm sure he's the smallest they have. Can't decide on a fabric design lol. Any suggestions ... |
I like the cotton belly bands, without elastic on the sides, and velcro closure strips. Some of the ones I had made have a "pocket" on each end, where you can insert the ends of the pad, which helps hold the diapers I use, inside the bellyband. |
Yes I just measured around his waist. They help save carpet and furniture. I choose golf theme and cowboy them. We also got some cute ones in the ge we where in. I used a sanitary napkin. Just the generic thinner pad from Walmart worked great. You do still need to let him out several times a day. Riley some days would need to have it changed several times. And the next day not at all. I did breed him three times so blame myself for some of it. He is doing much better now. I have not put one on in a long while. He is also one that would rather use a pee pad then go outside. :) |
I have 7 that I just bought that are brand new and will be happy to sell them to you for what I paid: $25.00. They were hand made. Just beautiful Email me. I have pix and also measurements. They were for my boy but I measured my girl instead. She is just under 4lbs. I will pay postage also. Phyllis |
