I picked up a Readers Digest the other day at the store and it has 50 things your vet won't tell you and all 50 are from vets. Its a good read and yall might want to pick one up.

yes.. that was a great read!! I was suprised about the comment about homecooking!:eek: Now I make sure my dh adds the balance it supplement everytime.. I don't want them to miss a day!!!

I disagree with this:

6. “The reason your pet is fat is because you are too. I would never say that to someone in an exam room, but the fact of the matter is, if you have an owner who overeats and is inactive, they are very likely to have an obese pet.”—Oscar Chavez, DVM.

I'm not obese, or anything, but not in great shape either... but my dog is in fantastic shape!! I wish I had his figure, LOL! When I eat crap food, it's my own fault, but Jackson is my responsibility and doesn't have a choice, so I'm going to make sure he's well exercised and fed, as it's not his fault he's got me as an owner haha! I'm responsible for his life and well being.

I agree! I am a bit overweight but I don't think I overfeed my girls at all. And I try to get them good quality foods. While I might run thru a drive thru for a hamburger. :(

I was kinda happy to see 25 because that's pretty much how I feel about it plus with yorkies they can have such long facial hair I could not imagine the germs that sit in that hair and get on everything they touch.

I think this one is definitely an important one for people who want to home cook to read especially with so many wanting to do it because of the pet food recalls.

i must say i kinda agree. i REALLY like the IDEA of raw diet, but i just couldnt live like that with a hairy yorkie

There were several numbers I paid attention to: #18, 24, 25, 29, 38, 40, and 45. I cant wait to get that list from Walgreens....

yes.. that is the one. It reinforced the need for the supplement.
