Do you have a picture of your baby? I have 3 yorkies, but I just adopted from our local shelter a shih tzu / maltese. That is what the shelter is thinking. He is old, 12 years old, blind, deaf, and someone just left him tied up to the gate. He's a good boy, barks to let me know he wants to go outside to the bathroom. I'm glad I got him. Most people do not want an old dog, especaially blind and deaf. :)

Thank You, but I always go for the ones that might be a little different. Those are usually the ones who need the love the most. :D

That's so amazing of you to adopt a disabled and older pet! He's so lucky to have you and you're lucky to have him :)

Here's my baby, her name is Stormy :) She definitely looks more Shih Tzu and is adorable and not "duh" as someone stated nor is she dull. She's my little firecracker.

I love all breeds. Both breeds you are considering are wonderful dogs. :) Maybe one day you can get one of each.

Oh she is a sweetheart. I love the name Stormy. I had a Yorkie that passed away named Raindrop.
The boy I adopted, he was already named Mario, so I just kept that. He doesn't hear anyways, so why confuse him. I clap my hands and he finds me. LOL!! Then he will lay down by me when I am on the computer.

Who could do such a thing to a fine old fella like that??:confused::( And just tie him up and walk off and leave him? How sad and beyond any kind of humanity. God bless you for taking him in. I hope his last days or years are happy and full of love with you.:)

This is Mario. My newest, from the shelter:thumbup: Isn't he a sweetheart? He's the one that is blind, and deaf, and the shelter is guessing at least 12 years old. What a good boy he is. Not sure what he is. Any guesses?

It's hard to say what breed he is but I can say for sure that he is extremely blessed to have you. Not many people would take home an old special needs fella like him.It breaks my heart to think someone would leave him there like that. He is very cute and looks to have a lot going on in that little mind of his. Who knows what his memories are! Thank you again for sharing your home with this little guy.

You know the bible says that humans were given dominion over all the animals of the earth. That means we are all responsible for them. If only everyone would realize the responsibility we have to care for ALL the creatures of the earth. Some day all will give an account for how we treated them. I think this guy will speak highly for you.:)

wow! Thank you all so very much. But this is just the kind of person I am. I would like to think most people would have done the same, but his previous owner didn't see it that way. And he really is a good boy. He doesn't mess in the house. He barks to let me know he has to go out, and I get the leash, take him out and he goes. No problem. Just a sweetheart. Thanks again for your kind words. You made my day. :)
