Aggressive Yorkie I went with a family member today to see a 9 week old yorkie she is getting from a friend soon. It is a little female and we had Kyra with us. This is the most aggressive little one I have ever seen. Kyra tried to play with her and she would growl and attack her. She is still tiny so there was no damage, but is this normal for one that young? I have never seen one behave this way before at such a young age. She is getting this baby free so I doubt I could talk her out of it, but if its going to be this aggressive later in life I won't want my babies subjected to it. |
Was it mean aggressive or playful aggressive? The reason I ask is because Georgie as a puppy was playful agressive he would nip at your toes and fingers ect... but he was 1lb at 12 weeks so we weren't worried about him hurting anyone. He grew out of it. |
It was play to start with then it got mad was funny at the time and Kyra just rolled it over but didn't know if it was a sign of worse behavior to come. |
Sophie plays like that too. |
I don't necessarily think it's a sign could just be a puppy phase. |
I sure hope so because she would be pretty offended if I don't let her be with my babies but if by chance she doesn't outgrow it I guess I will just have to offend her. lol |

Did this puppy have other litter mates to play with? Was it still with it's mom? Gracie was playful aggressive as a puppy. We really had to work hard to teach her to play nice. She actually would show me her teeth and growl at me! Not in a mean way, she just wanted to play rough. She is a sweetie now and only wants to kill her toy. |
She has one little brother smaller than her so I think maybe she is the dominate one of the 2. Hopefully its all play cause how can you not love a yorkie aggressive or not lol. |

The aggressiveness you can train away while they're young, but some things about Yorkies you don't even want to train away. I got my Yorkie precisely because he was too aggressive. He's trained in what's right, what's wrong, but still he has some spunk to him. |
