Anyone live in the Beaches/Leslieville area in Toronto? I live by Queensbury rd and was wondering if there was anyone here that knew of a great doggie park where there are lots of little dogs, or if anyone wanted to become dogwalking pals lol :aimeeyork:animal36:animal-pa |

I dont live in Toronto, but I visited and if you go downtown, there is like one on every block! And they have so many small dogs! Ralph LOVED it there! |
East end of Queen St. Has leashfree waterfront park. Cherry Beach the same. Warning Cherry Beach has just been posted - coyote alert. Go at off times - all sizes of dogs play there. Best if midwk afternoons - not so busy. Dog walkers tend to use Cherry Beach a lot about 1-3 ish. For Lake Ontario and with a Yorkie pup - wait until July August to try to introduce puppy to water. Center Island is a good romp with your pup. All my dogs love the ferryboat ride. Look up Leash Free dog parks Toronto. I know of no outside ones that have small dog only times. My favourite place is Kelso Conservation - but you'd need a car. I love the water there it gets warm early in the year. Also for puppy and Lake Ontario - don't try to introduce him/her to water until hot July timeframe. Look up Pawsaway I think they will run play days for toy or small breeds. I believe there is one on the harbourfront - might also be one closer to you. Also we have regional sections here - you might find a fellow neighbour if you go to "our" section. |
ONe other alert. Every year it seems we get some "nutso" who tries to put out poison food or water. Please, please, train your pup, the DROP it or LEAVE it command. Train him at home first. |
