trainning my baby yorkie is 3 months and she loves biting alot and peeing more in the spots i dont want her to then on her pad..i really dont know how to train her any ideas |
check out this thread Potty training seems to be a hot topic right now! I liked the advice that was listed a bit down in this thread. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-training.html Hope the link works and good luck to you. |
When she starts biting you give her something else to bite. She is probably teething right now, she should have lots of toys to chew on~ While training she should have limited space and watched at all times, when you see she is sniffing around take her to her pad. You should take her to her pad during the day so she learns where to go, when she does good reward her with a treat! |
I guess I need my kids to help me work this... How to I see more on training especially potty training?!? I have been told "good luck with that, Yorkies are the hardest. ". I am litter box/grass mat training my little one because of hawks, snakes, etc. I live in the country. I am training Rabbit to be my PTSD/anxiety dog and WOW he definitely is showing me everything I don't know. Not my first round with tiny dogs but... |
When she goes potty in the right spot make sure to praise her and give her a treat. A lot of people when potty training have had great success with keeping the pup in a play pen. What i did with Callie when she was a pup when she would bite I would say no and squirt her once with a water bottle. |
Another tip for biting: When they bite hard, say OUCH and lick your "wound." |
