Little Dude (Gizmo) Little Dude hates his antibiotics. He actually spits it out all over himself. The vet said he would do this but it makes me wonder if he is getting enough to get rid of this infection. He goes in for surgery on Thursday so yall keep him in your prayers. |
Will be saying some prayers for you little man. Gizmo is synonymous with stubborn and strong!:p |
Aw, little Gizmo sure is a handful but a loveable one. Will keep Gizmo and you in my thoughts and sending positive vibes for success on Thursday. |

Thank you all for the prayers, I am so nervous about his surgery, I was not this bad with any of mine but he is so small. |
Will be keeping Gizmo in my thoughts and prayers for a safe and speedy recovery. |
Sending prayers for Gizmo.. about the medicine, Ziggy was sick as a puppy and did the same but he got better, somehow they get enough in to get better.. |
Hey little dude:) I was thinking about you today.I'm wishing you a speedy recovery!!! You'll be in my prayers. |
My dexter had to be on liquid doxicyclin last year for Lyme's disease. Although they make it beef & cheese flavor (ewww!) he hated it. The vet said to get the dropper as far back into his mouth as I could, past his tongue and he'd have no choice but to swallow because it would be behind the part of his tongue that could get it back up. Prayers to you and Gizmo! :) |
Well I take Little Dude in for his surgery tomorrow. Everyone says a prayer for the little guy Please |
sending prayers for gizmo's surgery today! i will be thinking about the little guy! please update us when you can! |
Just dropped Little Dude (Gizmo ) off. Had a bad scare this morning with him. I always put him up on the counter to give him his antibiotics and my grand Daughter, who is 15 holds him for me well, this morning he wiggles away from her, jumped off the counter and ran. The counter is about 4 feet high and I was scared to death he hurt himself. I ran after him and sure enough his mouth was bleeding so I quick snatched him up and took him to the vet since he was due there anyways. She said he knocked a tooth lose. That could have been so much worse. Please never put your babies on the counter. I learned the hard way, from now on he sits in my lap to take his meds. |
So glad he was ok. Thats scary! Ive had many wow, we were lucky moments with my boys. Thankfully they are both a bit on the bigger side, but even at 6.5lbs my Dexter just feels soooo tiny with little bird bones. Prayers to little dude and his surgery today. I'm sure everything will go great with him. |
I must have missed a bit here. What is the surgery for? |
Aww, what a stubborn boy. When my two have to take liquid medicine, I get down on the floor with them and put them between my knees and hold them. Then I take my left hand and open their mouths and with the right, I put the dropper at the very back of their tongue. This forces them to swallow, and they get it all. Good luck with Gizmo. |
I am worried about him tonight. He had to have 13 teeth extracted my poor little man and he has not wanted anything to drink at all. He is so small and has not ate all day so I am praying he will be ok until tomorrow. I am worried about the blood sugar going to low. He is doing a lot of shaking but they told me not to give him any pain meds until the morning because they gave him a shot that should last for 24 hours. I will sleep on the floor next to his xpen tonight so I can watch him. Is there anything else I should do. All he wants to do is sleep and then he gets up for a minute and then looks around all sad and just sits there staring at nothing really. I pray he will be ok. The good news is it only cost 285 dollars for everything. |

Sending prayers for the little man. Try maybe putting down some plain warmed chicken broth to see if that entices him. |
I am afraid to give him anything tonight because of the teeth. |
What did the vet say? |
To just let him sleep and offer keep water in the x-pen in case he wants some but no food offered until tomorrow. |
I think he'll be okay then. Just watch like you said you were going to. I'm sure he got some fluids from his IV. Poor little man, how big is he? |

Weird, he's the same size as my Gizmo. Sending lots of prayers of comfort, know the little man is strong. He's made it this far. |
How's little dude doing today? Hoping he is drinking and eating now.I felt so bad when I read he jumped off the counter, poor little baby. mike |
Gizmo is up and about but I will not allow him to do much. He is still crying and when I say crying I mean this little guy cries like a person. It is just so sad. He ate this morning and took his antibiotics without much of a fight and he has been outside twice. He still looks so pittiful. He wants to be by me but does not want me to hold him cause it hurts. I have been keeping him in the x-pen but he is out right now laying by me as I type this. |
