Watch her closely. There is an infection that female dogs can get when they go into heat. Make sure she does not have a temperature. It is a deadly infection of the dog's uterus. Any sign of a temp or unusual behavior needs to be checked out right away. I'd also be concerned about her not wanting to be around you. Many times when something strange is going on with a young dog they want to be near you. Hope she gets feeling better soon. |
When Cali and Roxie came in to heat before I could get them spayed they both became very aloof and quiet. They preferred to be by themselves. So it could be she is coming into heat. |
Heat is my first suspicion. So you must protect/guard her from inadvertent matings. That means crating at home if you have an un neutered male, exercise only on a lead; do not leave her out in yard unattended at all. |

What we also found a bit strange, once she had been done - was a mark used to appear on either side of her tail, sort of at the top of her hips - 2 small 1"-ish round marks - at approximately the time she would have been coming into season....They used to disappear after a few weeks. Of course we wouldn't see this in our Yorkies - with all their hair...:) Sally + Harry x |
