Hello to YT Hi My name is Kathryn and I am writing to introduce myself. I am the proud Mom of 4.5 lb Lavinia Hyacynth (Vivi). She is my first yorkie...I had two big lovable golden retrievers..Sam and Daisy...RIP.....so owning a little dog has been a new experience. All I can say is that I now have two children One 15 year old with two legs..... Elizabeth..... and one furry one. I was surprised and delighted by my attachment to Vivi....she is with me all the time. I am an artist and I work at home in a studio. Vivi sits on my lap while I paint. I loved my big dogs very much but this is a different relationship. She is my muse. If someone that didn't understand this type of bond were to stand outside my studio door they would think I was crazy but I talk to VIvi all the time and I could swear she listens and understands me!!!!I know that there are lots of kindred spirits out there. I lost my husband to cancer 6 years ago(he was 41) and sometimes my daughter says that she thinks her Daddy sent Vivi to us.If that sort of thing can really happen then I am inclined to believe her. I am now engaged to a wonderful man and I have converted him into a dog liker who happens to be madly in love with Vivi!!!!I enjoyed the thread with all the photos of dogs and parents...YT is an attractive group. I will post pictures when I figure out how to do it. Anyway I am rambling so I will close now....Hope to talk to ya'll soon,Kathryn and Vivi |
Wow! What a great introduction!! I love Vivi's name. Very unique. Yorkies are quite addicting AND intuitive....I wouldn't be surprised if she does know what you are saying. Welcome-you are going to love it here! |
Wow what a great story thanks for sharing! Hello and welcome to yorkietalk! I hope you enjoy it here! |
Kathryn and Vivi Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I personally think your daughter is right. There are many Angels amoung us. |
Vivi's name Hi, Thanks for the welcome. I named Vivi ......Lavinia Hyacynth.....because when I got her she was such a tiny little puppy and I thought she deserved a VERY BIG name!!!!!!It just seemed to fit her personality. |
Welcome to YT Kathryn! I can tell already that you are a true yorkie mommy!! Great story!! :) |
hi and welcome, im gina, so glad you joined us... you will love it here too. |
That's a great story. Welcome to YT and be sure to post pictures of Vivi!! |
What a beautiful introduction and a very warm welcome to you and Vivi. Vivi sounds so loved and special and indeed is a blessing into your home. I look forward to seeing all her lovely pictures and reading future stories. :D |
Glad to have you and ViVi on board. They are definately little angels somdays with horns! |
Welcome to YT..it can become addictive..I don't post much, but am here all day reading other posts! I also love Vivi's full name. My Mother was named Lavenia, and I always thought it was a beautiful name. I think most people spelled it with an I like you do, she was named after her grandmother and I think I've only seen it spelled with a E one other time. How did you come up with the name Lavinia? |
welcome hi & welcome......can't wait to see pics of vivi :aimeeyork !! Our furbabies here are quite spoiled as well, my youngest daughter is 17 and (lol) she verbalizes they get more attention than her! Jodi loves her little brother & sister very much though & is very loving to them. Infact she will get teary eyed just thinking of the time when Abbey's puppies will go to their new homes!.....Enjoy this yt community I found it to be great  ! Luck, Laughter & Happiness to all! |
Lavinia's name I have always loved the name.I chose Hyacynth because the flower is always welcome in the spring after the long cold winter. I think that is the perfect metaphor for Vivi. Thanks for asking. |
What a great introduction! Welcome to you and Vivi! |
Weclome to YT Kathryn and Vivi. What a warm introduction. Can't wait to see pics of little Vivi. Love her name, very original. :) |
