Hello everyone I'm new here on Yorkie Talk My name is Debbie I'm a new mother of a sweet little yorkie. Her name is Zoe. She came to me from a lady that was not able to take care of her any more due to her husband getting sick.Zoe will be nine months old on the 25 th of this month. She loves to be brushed. I was woundering if it is ok to brush her three or more times a day and what i should use each time I brush her ? I'm using Pet head as of now. Also she has a Vet apt. this week to have some extra teeth pulled. Is it safe to do this? She only wieghts 4 lbs. Should she have had them pulled sooner ? Or should i wait till she is bigger? |
HI Debbie welcome to YT. Cedric has his pulled around this time when he was neutered. he was also 4 pounds then..hes a bit closer to 5 now. I was worried sick but it went seamless. It's easy to be so worried with how small they are. I use Yorkie Splash and Shine...they also have a finishing/detangler spray I love keeps Cedric knot free and smelling good until his next bath. I only brush him once a day though ......he would not put up with three times a day!! hehe. |
Hi and welcome to YT. Congrats on your new baby. Glad that Zoe was able to find a home with you; so sorry to hear of her previous owners health issues. If Zoe has not been spayed yet, I would suggest having that and her teeth pulled at the same time so she will not have to go thru a procedure twice. Do you think she's got more baby teeth that may need to come out? If so, you may want to wait on that as well. I would discuss this with the vet and see what they say. Good luck with her appt. Let us know how she does. :) |
Hello and welcome, congrats on your little girl... |
Hi, and welcome. It's nice that you were able to take this little dog in. It is good to brush her at least a couple of times a day. I usually use a small metal grooming comb to get the tangles out and then brush her with a pin brush. I'm putting a link to a page that shows various pin brushes. I have the small pink one. There are also various sizes of metal grooming combs on that site that you can look at. toplinepet.com People usually have baby teeth removed when they have their pets spayed or neutered. No sense in having them put under any more than necessary. I know dogs that are 4lbs have been spayed and neutered. It's best to make sure your vet has experience working with small dogs. Would love to see some pictures of your new family member! |
Welcome to yt! Congrats on Zoe! Can't wait to see pics:) |
