Do I need to...? Do I need to put Ryder on a feeding schedule? If so, how many times a day? |

It sure makes potty training easier and it is sometimes easier on tiny tummies to eat several small meals per day. Up to 6 months old you feed 3 or 4 meals per day my oscar is 7.5 months old @ 7 pounds and he eats 1/4 c. 2 x daily |
We feed Georgie in the morning and evening. We don't have a specific time in the morning since Georgie likes to sleep in;) |
I have been allowing Milo free access to food. I did it with my first yorkie and it worked well. I am on a pretty strict potty training schedule and that is making very good progress. His energy level is excellent and he isn't overweight. I am going to continue unless something pops up. |
When mine were pups, I free feed and the vet told me that as they got to about 4/5 mos, 4x a day would be good and then down to 3x etc. Now at basically 4 and 5, I feed 2x a day but depending on how much they eat, I might just leave what's left down. I feed them a patty- to a patty and half at each mealtime of freeze dried Stella and Chewy's. |
I free feed mine but I think either way is ok. |
