Help me! My pup cries ALL night! My 6 week old pup cries all night long, she thinks its play time at 1am! What can I do to get her to sleep??? |
six weeks?? that is young...... does she sleep with you? or in a crate? |
Yea she is really young, I didnt know that it was to early to purchase her until after the fact. Her mother died during a c section. She sleeps in a crate right next to my bed. |
I got my boys at 9weeks old, they cried at night too. Since they were so little I did not let them sleep with me for safety sake. I put them in a crate, I put blankets and a ticking clock inside the crate with them. Then I covered the whole crate with a blanket to make it nice and warm and dark. Never heard a peep from them all night. Your baby is awfully young though, too young to have been taken away from his/her mommy. I am not sure what will work to calm your baby down. Maybe a heating pad on low and a ticking clock to kind of imitate the sound of his mommy and liter mates heartbeats. |
Her mother died during a c section. I put a clock in her crate but I will try the heating pad tonight thanks (: |
Do you have the crate set up next to your bed? I did that with our Katie Scarlett when she came home (she was 13 weeks though) and it really helped us. That and her Snuggle Puppy. She didn't need the Snuggle Puppy after 2 weeks, but I think it really helped her transition into our home. Good luck to you! Here is a link to a Snuggle Puppy if you would like: http://www.snugglepetproducts.com/sn...nuggle-puppies We got the pink one. I donated it to a fellow YT'er with a new baby a while back though. |

Then, I'd hold her til she fell asleep and lay her down, and go to sleep myself, 10-20 mins later, she'd be crying again, so up I'd get, hold her some more til she fell asleep, lay her down...20 mins later crying again. I did this for two nights...it was worse than a human baby. By the 3rd night I was exhausted! So after getting up I took her to bed with me to lay down, cos I was so tired I could barely stand up! And we both fell alseep. She's been sleeping with me every since. |
i hope the heating pad does the trick. does she have a favorite toy? or baby? or maybe make a nest of babies like her siblings would be. maybe one of those glow bugs for skin kids that has a heart murmur sound. wishing you luck on finding a solution. |
Really every 4 hours? The vet I took her to told me just to feed her a tablespoon of wet food and some warm water with it and add some nutri-cal three times a day. |
At six weeks old, I would think every four hours is more appropriate for feeding. |

3 times a day???? No, baby needs to be feed more often, especially when they are so young and tiny... |
i would think a hot water bottle would be better than a heating pad... |
Dexter cried all night when we got him at 9 weeks old. We put him next to the bed and when he cried we just put our hand down and gave him a cuddle until he fell asleep again. Could you try leaving some food and water out so she can eat when she's hungry? Or is that just not how it works? lol x |

My vet doesn't believe in routinely giving nutrical (or karo syrup). It's used only if needed at the first sign of hypoglycemia. But if fed around the clock, blood sugar levels should be stablized and it shouldn't be needed. How was the vet exam? |
