Paw pads are itchy and rough around the edges, could this be allergies? I was checking out Sheldon's paws yesterday because he keeps on licking and chewing on them, then I noticed some of his paw pads are rough around the edges, look like dry skin, it has a different color. Is this a sign of food allergies? |
It could e food or environmental allergies. My girl started itching and I know it isnt a food allergy shes on the same food for years. I have even had allerfgies here lately so I know its not good out I never get them |
yes, it could be, also it could be what you clean your floors with, is a product called BAG Balm, my holistic Vet recomended it to me when my Prada got a nasty paw infection, I rub her paws with it, twice a week. and it has help tremendously, so I started cleaning my pack paws twice a week with a baby wipe and rubbing the bag balm and all their paws look very nice and soft now, I use to use musher's secret but bag balm works so much better. hugs, |
I don't think is related to any cleaning products, I don't use chemicals on my floors, they are cleaned with water using a steam mop and our other cleaning stuff are all green. Sheldon has an appointment next week, I'll have the vet check him. I am also going to change his food, his right now has a mix of salmon, duck and turkey so who knows if it could be from that. Thanks ladies, I'll check on the balm. |

Lots of itchys. At his wellness check everything was fine. He has been on a couple different foods both had basically the same ingredients so i thought i would try something totally different. "california natural , kangaroo & red lentil". So far so good. Does not seem to be itching so much. I am not saying he has a food allergy but if this food makes him feel better i am happy.. I have read that if you think your dog may have a food allergy to give them a food containing ingredients they have never had before. See how they do with that. That in itself is not an easy task since most dog foods have similar ingredients... |
