Please Help. Research Links/Knowledge needed I've posted this in our Yorkie Brothers n Sisters; because Zoey is a BRT and not a yorkie. How-ever I do know that this section is the busiest by far. For more information you can go to that forum and see the thread entitled Please pray for Zoey. I'm asking for information, links to research, personal experience, with 1/2 body radiation for a dog with Stage IV multi centric Lymphoma. I've found info on dogs that have successfully completed chemo; but nothing so far on dogs where chemo seems to be ineffective. Again for stem cell research and applications it is being done, but for dogs that have responded successfully to chemo and are in remission. I thank all in advance for your help |
I found this link: Lymphoma in Dogs | Canine Lymphosarcoma Symptoms and Treatment |

Oh dear God thank you all. i will be investigating all links provided. |
I really don't understand exactly what you are looking for, I put this "1/2 body radiation for a dog with Stage IV multi centric Lymphoma" in google and looked under "Scholar." 1/2 body radiation for a dog with Stage IV multicentric Lymphoma - Google Scholar One study says: Combination of CCNU and DTIC Chemotherapy for Treatment of Resistant Lymphoma in Dogs - Flory - 2008 - Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Wiley Online Library Conclusions and Clinical Importance: A combination of CCNU and DTIC can be an effective option to rescue dogs with resistant lymphoma. Don't know if this is what you have in mind though. Maybe there are other studies that are more what you have in mind? |
Thank you Nancy. These links were great. Erudite, and I'm not sure about applicablility to Zoey but I have printed out. If you haven't sussed it out yet, I am desperate, to find a "cure" or best hope for her. She is at this point not responding to 3rd chemo treatment. And I must try to find out more. " |

Some of those links I sent you discussed "CHOP" and another one....combinations of medications that are given....I remember (unless I dreamed it!!!) you had said she was on Vincristin (sp?)....those combination med. protocols use 3-4 of the different meds..... |
