When it comes to Yorkies, the question is, when don't they change colors? My boys are 3 and 2.5 years old and they have been changing from the day I brought them home. Max went from the puppy black/gold to a silver topknot with black streaks (thumbprints) by the time he was 5-6 months old. He has a gold head now at 3 years. |
Your pictures have to be under the size limits before Yorkietalk will accept them; try to make them no larger then 9 inches or so. Someone who wants to be a breeder should find a dog that meets standard, unfortunately many just breed their pets. There really isn't anything special about a dog being a purebred, it's just means that an adult dog should look and behave a certain way. However, if the breeder isn’t choosy about his breeding stock, he will breed undesirable traits back into the line. As pets these dogs can be wonderful, but they should not be bred. Was your dog AKC registered, that's one way to tell if he's "likely" to be purebred. The only sure way is a DNA test. |
Awe I can see the pictures and looks like an adorable yorkie to me;) |
hes not akc registered but they sed his mom was |
At this point the only way to know for sure if he is purebred is to do a DNA test. They are pretty common these days. You can buy one online or talk to your vet. You puppy looks very Yorkie like. If you shave his ears they still may stand up. Sometimes the fur is too heavy and holds them down. |
Looks like a cute yorkie to me... |
