Pure Salmon oil (omega 3 and fatty acids suppliment).. Hello everyone :) My name is Gina and I was a member of this forum years back.I had 3 yorkies back then, but over time they all died and I stopped coming :( Now,years later,my husband and I decided it was time to bring a yorkie back into our lifes and we recently brought home our two yorkie pups,Milo and Bella. We´ve had them for about 10 days now and they´re almost 8 weeks old (Please understand that it´s the norm to bring them home at 6 weeks old here ;) ). Anyway,it´s wonderful to have yorkies again, although Im a little rusty lol.I used to give my other yorkies omega 3 with their kibble (for those unfamiliar with it,it´s for their skin and coat). It came in powder form and I´d just sprinkle it on their food, but now,we get bottles of 100% pure salmon oil and we´re supposed to pour a tiny amount over their food. The thing is,I have forgotten when it´s ok to start them on it ;) Does anyone know when I can give it to them? Thank you before hand :) |
Since they are so young I would ask your vet what he thinks. Usually those products are given according to the weight of the dog so you need to keep close track of their weights as they grow. You could also contact the company that produces the product. |
Asking your vet is a great idea. With my dogs, I don't start supplements until after one year old. I feed a very high quality kibble until that time, then I start to switch them over to home fed, and begin the supplements. |
