Kwigy bo alex dog carrier Hi! So I was looking around for dog carriers for my new puppy (who I wont have until around mid May) and I came across the Kwigy Bo Alex bag in Croc Patent leather. I was wondering if you guys who have this bag can tell me how you like it. Does it hold up well? Is it good quality? Also, my dog is supposed to be about 4.5 to 5 lbs adult weight, and I am not sure if I should purchase the small or the large. So for those of you with the bag, which size did you purchase and how big is you dog/how much does he/she weigh? If you guys have any pictures of the Alex style bag that would help me decide if I should get it and what size to get, it would be much appreciated. It doesn't necessarily have to be the croc pattern, just the same Alex style :) |
I've heard rave reviews about them! I do not own one myself, but they sure are cute! |

Cute bags but make sure you get a color that wont attract too much heat from the sun such as a black one. We all know the NY sun is not fun. =) |

I have the small alex in black, a large alex in black croc. and a large alex in cream with faux snake skin handles. While my ZoE is big, I'd recommend the large no matter what. The pockets on the large are bigger also making them more functional for YOU, and the bigger size gives your pup more ventilation & room on hot days, and on cold winter days, you can put an extra blankie in there. My large black croc I keep in my car all the time incase I have ZoE with me and need to run in somewhere. |

Ok, I have to admit that I am kind of an accessory nut. Shoes and bags have always been a weak spot for me so it has been no different concerning bags for my dog. I have the Kwigy Bo in a small. My Gracie is 5 pounds and fits in there nicely but she can't really turn around in it and she dislikes having to lay down and be zipped into it. Of course I did not start putting her in it until she was already a year old. I agree with the person above about getting a large for the dog's comfort. It may seem big at first but with blankets and such in there it won't be a problem. I am still searching for the perfect bag. Ventilation is important especially in the warmer months. The advantage of the Alex and Alexa is the fact that your pup is hidden from sight should you need to take it in an area where you might not want to be seen with a pet. I am already in the process of having a collection of pet carriers. The next on my list is: Lizzie Pet Carrier - Petfavors.com - The on-line store for pampered pets. Designer pet beds, pet carriers, outdoor cat enclosures, pet strollers It's made by Backbone. I actually found it on another website for $87.00 so I think I'll probably get it for use this spring. |
I have the small kwigy Bo Alex and I love it. But as mentioned above the zipper is only plastic(inside pocket) and my little girl chewed and ruined it. Other than that it is my favorite bag as I have quite a few. Ahi weighs 4lbs. 2oz. And fits nicely in it. She has room to turn around. I can unzip enough where she can pop her head out and stand. She is tiny though. And it looks like a purse and it's inconspicuous. :) |

Like I said, in my opinion, they are okay quality, not great. So, I guess it depends what you are used to carrying. For me personally, they are a lesser quality than any other purse I own. They do the job, but I certainly wouldn't expect it to last the life of a pup....but for $150ish...what do you expect? My last yorkie was much smaller, I had (still have) a Cece Kent real leather carrier. It's still in great shape...but I spent more on it than all the KB's combined, so maybe you get what you pay for? |

Well, you could get a less expensive bag for her first year and then when you know for sure how big she is going to be splurge on a nice bag. |
