What's that smell?? What is the best brand of odor and urine remover for your carpet? I have shampooed my carpet myself, used baking soda and made a home-made cleanser but nothing has worked and the smell is still on my new carpet. The only room in our house that has carpet is the living room and I'm having trouble finding a proffesional who will come and clean just one room. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? |
You need to get Natures miracle it is sold at places like Petsmart. It has an enzyme in it that will take out the odor |
I have 2 dogs. A Yorkie and a Pom. My Yorkie uses pads half of the time and outside the rest of the time. My Pom is housetrained but will have an accident every now and then. I had to be away from home for 2 months for work and they stayed at my sons house. It was this past summer and when I got back and walked into my house I was shocked at the smell. I went to my local supermarket and rented a carpet shampoo machine. I also got the pet deordorizer cleaner for the machine. Went home and did my carpets. What a difference it made. Now that I am home I clean their areas once a week with my own machine that I bought right after that. It's great to have when I find an accident. Otherwise there are products for spot cleaning that have enzymes for the smell. |
I use nature's miracle and I have one of those bissell hand held carpet cleaners. |
I used Odoban. Got it at Home Depot. |
I use natures miracle advanced. I also have one of the blacklights from petsmart too, just to make sure I didn't miss any spots! |
Natures Miracle and it always helps to have a machine at home. |
I love Natural's Miracle too, it the only product that I've found that doesn't leave a line around the stain. I blot the urine up, spray the spot, blot again, and spray again and let dry naturally. |
We use Natures Miracle as well and love it! |
I do nature's miracle (follow the directions and soak up excess pee first). Then AFTER that go over it with my Little Green Machine -- use the pet formula. LOVE the little green. We may get our pet deposit back because of that little beauty. Best $90 I ever spent. |
I have used natures miracle and never smelled a thing, and I have a very sensitive nose. I did read that you should use it before you use any other cleaners though. I think the other cleaners will change the chemical composition of the mess. It may still take out the smell to YOUR nose, but your dog, and other may smell it. I have a friend whose dog peed in the house way too often. They got rid of him but I feel like I have to watch Maggie so carefully because she will sniff the areas where they tell me Bandit peed. I don't smell anything, and the woman is a cleaning fanatic, but Maggie does. Maggie does NOT go in the house, but I worry that smelling pee inside somewhere will tell her it is OK, or that she will "mark". She has gone inside Petsmart, and I think it is because of the smells. (or maybe excitement, or she just really had to go!) |
Natures Miracle -- hands down!! I would never have tried it, but I was at a pet store, desparately examining the cleaning fluids, and this very pushy woman (not an employee) kept picking up a quart bottle of NM and gushing about how great it was. I finally put it in the cart to quiet her. OMG! It is truly a miracle! Just had all new carpet put in last May after two trees fell on my house and ruined my flooring. If I didn't have NM, I'm not sure I'd still have my guys! (oh yes, I would... but can't help saying it...) |
Nature's miracle for spot treating but if I do the whole carpet I use the bissell professional pet urine eliminator with the pet urine eliminator pre-treat spray. I LOVE my bissell pet proheat steam cleaner. Best $150 I have ever spent! My carpet came out 2 shades lighter and returned to its original tan color after we have used it. The last tenants in our town home never cleaned the carpet and it showed. It was pretty gross when we moved in and now it looks like I have newer carpets! I cannot say enough good things about this machine. |
