unloved? i got a 9 week old yorkie puppy... the first few days he was very loving and always wanted attention and gave me a lot of kisses... but a couple days ago we got his sister. We didnt want them to be split up.. ever since we got her he hasnt been as loving:(. I take good care of him and i never punish him or did anything to him. All i do is be loving and sweet, play with him and pet him.. but now when i pick him up she sqwirms to get out of my arms ... his sister always wants attention and always wants to cuddle with someone and be next to them... but he doesnt want to do any of that anymore. but when new people come around or my boyfriend comes my puppy goes insane and gives him kisses and his tail goes crazy... i wished he did that with me. i dont know if he hates me or something. im trying my best. it kind of hurts. :( i thought he would love me since i got him and take good care of him and show him love |
Aww :( I'm sorry to hear that. I. Have no advice or knowledge on that but I hope someone can help you here!(: |
Maybe he is feeling alittle jealous. I know when I am holding Dudley and Kayla jumps up on my shoulder he will show his teeth and bark at her. I just love them at the sametime, keep down the fussing and it will eventually work it self out. They play and have a good time together but jealous. Kayla also thinks ALL the toys are hers. I think they get mad at us too. I have had mine sull for awhile and then they are okay. |
He's just a little baby and doesn't really know you yet and now that you have his littermate, it's old home week to him. He's got part of his family back and naturally he's going to want to cling to that situation in his new surroundings. And if you boyfriend was his caregiver and you left for a while, he would greet you the same way he does your boyfriend. Dogs always greet and make over newcomers to the home. Wait until he's older and comes to really develop a relationship with you - he's had 9 weeks to form one with little sis. With age and after the newness of getting his sister back in his life wears off, he will come to know and love you, too. As an older dog, he will actually prefer to be with his human though he will always have a tight bond to his sister. Just to me personally, two dogs raised together from puppyhood and kept together are often neither as personal a pet to their owner as a single dog usually is, though I know there are certainly exceptions and many say it has made no difference in their dogs. But should he be a one that is not as "loving" as you say, surely the fun you will have with two and companionship he will have all of his life with his sis there will more than make up for that. |
I agree, give him time and don't take it personal. He is so little and probably wants to play and cuddle with what's familiar, his sissy. You'll develop your own relationship as he matures, just dont give up! :) And welcome to YT! |
I agree, give him time and he is still really young. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will work out. You are so lucky to have 2 little yorkies. |
Welcome. it just takes time. Keep showing him love and he will come around. |
He is jealous. I would do things for him first every time you give treats and so on. You might also make special play times just for him. Let him know he is still King of the Castle.:) |
