Shampoo suggestion I read in a home remedies column somewhere that most soaps can be diluted and put in a foamer bottle so today I tried it with the dog shampoo in a recycled bath and body works foamer bottle and it worked great. Just an idea for anyone else that may be interested. I think I had a lot less waste doing it this way. |
Wow that is great. I used the Yorkie Splash again today and it seems like I have to use more to get a nice rich lather but I admit with the shampoo and conditioner her hair is so soft. I also use Yorkie Sheen detangle as a grooming spray. I just spray her comb and brush and it works beautifully and smells wonderful.. Someone on here uses Furfection Naturals Face Cleaner and loves it, now I am wanting to get that for her face. Yes I am a product junkie... |
I have several Bath and Body Works body washes, now what is a foamer? |
That is a good idea!! I tend to use to much I think. I want to see that nice lather!:rolleyes: I use Bath and Body Works foaming soaps so I have plenty bottles I could use! Thanks for the suggestion!!! |

I have been doing that for a while..it really works great. Mink Sheen's dilution ratio is 8:1 I measure it in a shot glass and use an old dawn foamer bottle. It makes a full bottle and it lasts about 6 weeks X 2 dogs. It is amazing how much product you save by doing it this way. |
I'm going to have to do this..It'll give me an excuse to get some Bath and Body Works soap! :) Also going to have to try that Spash and Shine. Hear nothing but wonderful things about it. |
me too i needs to get some of that shampoo |

What a great suggestion!! |
Chachi, your baskets are beautiful.. |
I want to try this and out of the millions of toiletries in this house not one foaming bottle! They have them on ebay for about five bucks but I think I'll just wait & buy something filled at the store. |

I just did this today because I needed another one for the bath. Take the tube out of the dispenser, and poke 5 or 6 pin holes (i use a safetly pin) in the tube just below where it connectes to the top. Make sure you keep your soap level in the container below the spots where you put the pin holes, this infuses air into the pumping action, and , whoa-La! you have foam :) |

I love Isles of Dogs Everyday- The silky forumula. The Yorkies smell great for at least 2 weeks. Buddy goes to the dog park daily and rolls in muck- Gets a daily hose down and Still only needs to be bathed weekly do to smelling stinky. |
I use all the Yorkie Splash and Shine products on my Gracie. The shampoo and conditioner do not have suds like most products do because she does not use the chemical used in most regular shampoos and conditioners to make the suds and the thickening agent for the conditioner. You really don't need to make suds for the product to work properly. You just want to make sure the product goes through the fur and onto the skin distributed evenly. I always do two shampoos and then condition and get wonderful long lasting results. Some companies use a "natural" sudsing agent to make their soaps seem like the regular products but some sources question how "natural" the ingredient actually is and some say the ingredient can be a source of irritation to sensitive skin. Of course like everything else there is controversy about such ingredients. I would think that to most normal skins it would have no ill effects at all. The YSS products do not have the ingredient anyway. When I was about to place my first YSS order I asked about getting a foaming bottle and the owner told me that they did not sell them any more because she had started to make the shampoo a bit thicker because some had complained that the shampoo was too thin. Well, I had a foaming bottle left over from something and decided to try it anyway. I found the shampoo too thick to work in my bottle so I have been using it right out of the bottle it comes in and I think it works fine. You know that all natural shampoo/conditioner for humans, WEN? It has no suds at all and people stand in the shower and pump large amounts of product into their hair to get it to work. I guess people like it because it sure is popular. My groomer used it on Gracie the last time she was there and she looked and smelled great! I have to say that the YSS products are much less expensive and easier to use! Some people say that the foamer bottles make products go further so if you get your foaming bottle to work then you may be able to use less product. They do sell foamer bottles on ebay pretty cheap. I buy the big YSS bottles because Gracie gets a weekly bath but I think these products go a long way. Of course she is not very big so I guess it doesn't take much to get her clean.:) |
