Somewhat Bothered I just got home from some errands, literally. I took our tax papers to get done and the person we use has three little yorkies. They have a sign out front that says, "Dogs Welcome, Kids on Leash" I like that. So I took Bella with me, which I've done that in the past. Husband "Is she fix?" Me "Yes. I one of those type of people that would keep the puppies." Well they have two yorkies and a yorkie poo. Today their little female is due at anytime. She accidentally got bred by a dashound. Wife "She's gonna have more pups this time than last." Me "How many did she have last time?" Wife "5" REALLY!!!!!! Maybe you folks have rubbed off on me, but that was what I was thinking. I couldn't say anything. Their little female is probably around 4 lbs. Bella was bigger than the others that were running around the house. She's 6 1/2. I had thought at one time if I wanted another I would get in touch with them, but I'm thinking not. They've had these same adult pups at least for 4 to 7 years, and breeding at least a 7 year old. Is that wrong? My mind leans towards a puppy making machine. Ok I'm done being bothered till my husband gets home. LOL |
yikes not sure but it sounds like she should be spayed by this time. hopefully all goes well. |

No you're not done being bothered by this...and neither are lots of us, now...thanks to you ! lol All kidding aside, though...OMGoodness...OMGoodness! A 4-ish lb Yorkie mated with a Dachshund...more than 5 pups...wow! Will you know ever / maybe how this turns out so you can post 'results' ? I sure hope the little lady Yorkie is okay after this fiasco! OMG! |
IMO they are nothing more than a dumb azz, to risk her dogs life to mate with daushaund, just no accounting for brains. Ha Ha, just realized I made a pun, accounting I would find a differnt tax person, are you sure they are smart enought to do a good job. |
Sounds like a very taxing situation. |

I wonder if they give the dogs away, I hate to say it especially since I have a yorkie mix, but the pictures I have in my head of a yorkie daushaund mix are a little big scary, hopefully they look more like a yorkie:D:aimeeyork:D |

I just goggled it they are called Dorkies and there are some cute ones, but they were puppy pics |
I would never fault someone for a single accidental breeding. :p On two occasions with two diffferent young Shep/Labs this same thing happened to me...not because I didn't take every possible precaution, but because they went into an early heat while waiting for their spay appointments...and others (not family members) let them out of confinement where they mated with other Shep/Labs...believe it or not! I mean, what are the odds of that! :D I never intentionally allowed/caused breeding to occur, and had done everything within my power to prevent it. I kept my females in heat on short leads when I took them out, and went out first to make sure there were no interested male suitors camped nearby before either of them stepped foot out the door. :p A mistake is a mistake, and they happen to perfectly wonderful careful and responsible people. These people sound as if they love their babies, which is all well and good and I am truly glad about that, but, it also sounds like they have intentionally bred her on previous occasions, and they know she takes off when outside...which sounds a bit (ahem) irresponsible when you know this and you know that your 4-lb Yorkie is unaltered and in heat...so I have to wonder why she was not on a lead accompanied by a human. I do not have any idea how large the Dachshund was, but this and the number of pups she carries would be my concerns because I have seen some pretty large Dachshunds myself, so I just hope everything goes okay for the little Yorkie welping more than 5 'Dorkie' pups. I had a good sized 'Doodle' years ago, but the mom was a Standard Poodle and the dad a Dachshund, and no problems welping. I have a friend with a 'Dorkie' now, and he is a pretty little guy, but I do not know if his dam was a Yorkie or a Dachshund...she rescued him because his previous owner died. I look forward to an updated report, if you are able to get one, and, hey, photos of cute puppies would be nice too, if possible....hint...hint... :D Take care! |
