Poor Little Tyler! My most recent rescue had his dental today. I just talked to the vet and he lost 25 teeth. He had already lost some she said and he only has 7 left! Most of them were so loose she just picked them out!!! I am so mad about the lack of care he has had. He is only 5 years old and just the sweetest thing! Mommy's gonna be really good to him tonight. |
Poor little thing but hopefully it will feel better soon. |
Aww, poor guy :( I can't believe he is only 5 with that few teeth... My foster only has 9 teeth and eats kibble fine. Give Tyler a kiss for me :) |
Ouchie!! Poor baby. :( He deserves a little special treatment from his momma tonight. Give him extra smooches for me, too. |
Aw! Feeling bad for your little one... he's sure to be feeling better soon! |
aww. poor baby. he had a rough start in life but now he has you. bless you for rescuing him... |
Aw I am so sorry to hear that! We will be sending hugs and prayers that he has a speedy recovery |
Thanks everyone. I got Tyler home about an hour ago. He walked out of his crate right away and got a drink of water. Then he was ready to eat a little bit of cheese and three cooked carrot slices. He stopped after the third so I know his little mouth is hurting. He looks so sad! I wish I'd asked for the teeth. I'd love to slam them into the breeder's face but I'm still being nice to her. She doesn't have any males now and the two females she has have been spayed so I'm hoping. I worked on her for a long time to get her to stop. Pray that she doesn't start up again. |
aaw, poor little thing, so glad that he has you to take care of him... |
Poor baby. So glad he has you to give him all the lve and care he deserves. |
That poor little boy! Hoping he has some pain medication and will have a peaceful night. Bless you for helping him and caring for him. He's a lucky little guy. |

awww...poor little guy...hope he feels better soon...he must have one sore little mouth.. |
Poor baby:( I am sure when his little mouth heals, he will feel so much better. How wonderful of you to rescue this baby Lou, he will know what being really loved is like now.:) |
Poor baby, :( He is so young, but has better days ahead. :) |
Poor little baby. Do you think it could be partly because of the food he was eating? I know some of the less expensive dog foods have various forms of glucose in them. It could help rot the teeth. |
Poor little guy, I hope he's feeling much better in the A.M. Lou, he's so lucky to have you. |
Poor baby. I hope everything will be OK. The good thing is that dogs adapt so very quickly that before long it will be like nothing happened. |
My baby was in the same situation. She was a rescue who had to have 25 teeth pulled at the age of 7. They saved the 4 front teeth but told me that eventually they will have to be pulled as well. Just this past October she got her last 4 teeth pulled. She's my little toothless baby. She's now 12 but still going strong. The added benefits of not have any teeth is her little tongue sticks out 70% of the time which is so freakin cute and her breath doesn't stick. |
Thanks again everyone. It took Tyler a long time to get over the anesthesia last night and he still just wants to lay around. He ate a little soft food this morning then went right back to my bed to sleep on my pillow. He is on antibiotics and asprin. I know he will be happier without all those nasty teeth but it sure hurts my heart to see him like this. And I am still really angry about his condition. Gracie was in bad shape too when I got her from this same breeder. Like I said it has been a long proceedure getting this byb to stop. |
Get well soon Tyler. |

Poor muffin, good for you for taking such good care of the poor thing. I know many breeders don't care to look after the teeth of their breeding dogs because of the expense, I just wish they'd do their research and find their are really good spray products out there that will keep their dogs teeth healthy. |
I Know so many people are totaly uneducated about doggy dental issues. Quite a few of the fosters we have had, lost some or all of their teeth because of neglect. So sad. Hugs for you and Tyler. |
