Coon Dog Cemetery I thought I would let Yt members know that my husband and I stopped at Tuscumbia,Alabama to see the famous Coon Dog Cemetery. What a beautiful peaceful place and only coon dogs are buried here. Many graves here and beautiful markers. One owner put a fresh wrapped bone on the grave of his beloved coondog. He even wrote his love for his baby on the white meat wrap paper. This is a place way out in the country and drive there was breath taking. If any one is in Alabama it is worthwhile to see and the visit in this state is wonderful. I would love to live here than Minnesota people are so helpful. Susan |
I have not heard about it before, but it sounds like a very special place. |
Sounds beautiful and peaceful and speaks volumes about all that a dog can mean in the life of a human. |
What is a coon dog? |
Never mind googled it. Looks kind of like a hound dog but taller? |
We live about 25 minutes from there but never been. I have always heard about it. I have also heard that people come from everywhere to bury their dogs. |
