Are two Yorkie's better then one ? Hello yorkie parents =0) , hope you guy's can really help me out to make a big decision and give me advice > well let me start off by telling you all that i already have a five month old yorkie named Chester and he has become my pride and joy and i cant picture my life without him. Chester is a good boy and independent for the most part. Are two Yorkie's better then one ? YES!!! The best time in our house in first thing in the morning as they play play play!!! It is great to see them having so much fun together. :) I am really glad I got my 2nd one. Honestly I would have a house full if DH would let me!!! So I say go for it! |
I have a male and a female and have for 7 yrs. Ive never regretted having 2. they are like 2 peas in a pod. Twice the yorkie love is great too |
I think so, so far!!! I do know one thing for sure, I sure do get tired out by the end of the evening and sleep very well since I added another one to my family :D |
We waited til Ziva was two before we got Abby. Ziva was getting very set in her ways and quite possesive last year (she was 2)I think Abby, now 8 months,is the best thing for all of us- she is a sweet, calm, funny little pup that keeps Ziva occupied. No more trouble than just one except for potty training again! |
More to love i say yes!!!! i have three, they are a hand full but my only regret was not getting my last two babies sooner.. i waited to long. my oldest baby boy is 20mths so he has established his territory in our home. the two newbies are 13wks now so he isnt to sure about them yet.. he barks and tries to get to them every chance he gets.. im sure with time he will come around, but i wouldnt change a thing about having all of them.. GO FOR IT!! |
Having 2 is great for us humans and for the doggies. :) The only downsides are: twice the vet expenses and traveling/outings are more difficult with 2 than 1. |
lol if you ask me...then yes they are....twice the fun and love! and being that your chester is only 5 months he and her will bond fairly quick...they will keep each other entertained....i have 4 yorkie and 1 biewer...and still looking for a 6th....lol |
I have two and I think it's better for me and them to have two over 1. I can only assume then with that logic, that 3 would be better than 2 and 4 would be better than 3 and so on.......:D:rolleyes::p |
We only have one, but since we got her I wil admit to being tempted to get a companion for her! |
I have one male, he is 4. He is my everything~ He is so spoiled, gets all my attention, he gets to go everywhere with me. I think he really likes being the only dog (animal) in the house. I know for the most part Yorkies love having company- but Peanut doesn't. I have tried it in the past and he is a different dog. For me I have to have one... I think just go on your dogs personality and you can make the choice from that. I do think you should see how your Chester would like a brother or sister before you make that step. |
I had only a female for 1 1/2 yrs. Someone offered me their male that was the same age. Was kinda scared they wouldn't get along but they do. They play together and gives them company when I'm away. So glad they have each other!:thumbup: |
I was not thinking of even ONE dog -- let alone two. But Marley came into my life after being rescued running down the middle of a major highway in front of my office... He is so sweet... very calm... rarely barks... content to sleep on my desk with his head on my keyboard... He absolutely loves for clients to bring their dogs in to visit. they would chase and play and have a big time. sooo... I arranged to get Max -- 4 1/2 pounds of Alpha dog at a little over a year old. If Marley wanted a puppy, he didn't want THIS puppy! Max chases Marley; takes his toys; crowds him out for treats; attacks him when he comes back from walks... and because Max is a barker, Marley can't come to the office now because he has to stay home and babysit Max. Max is adorable, and I could not bear giving him up -- he's here to stay. But you do have to keep in mind that the second Yorkie won't necessarily have the same personality as your first. I have come to believe that the bigger Yorkies are a bit more mellow If you're worried, go for a bigger pup. Marley is 9# and Max has grown to 6 pounds (now 2 years old). |
