Hello everyone, it's my first day!!! I am the proud mother of 3 yorkies, I have had my oldest baby boy for about a yr now.. He was given to me by a friend who could no longer care for him anymore, and knew I loved dogs to the point of not refusing his offer to take him.. I fell in love so much, i wanted another one.. I have always had animals, mainly poodles since i was 18yrs old, but never a yorkie.. A few days ago I purchased 2 more baby girls, (not to breed), my male is neutered! They are AKC registered, and cost a pretty penny, but I wouldnt trade the love for the world.. I visited the breeder house twice, once to pay the deposit and the other to pay the balance and bring my babies home. I think I also paid for fleas, i have washed most off of them but they r still itchy, PLUS my male do not like them.. I have read other post about getting a male yorkie to accept puppies, but my Cosmo isnt having it at all, lol. |
Give him some time & he will come around. Congratulations on your new babies. Welcome to YT ! |
:animal36thx I will.. His eyes make me feel like I'm doing him wrong.. I so love him!! |
Wow! 3 fur balls...how do you do it? |
Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk! |
welcome and congrats on your babies. give your boy time , he will learn to accept them. as for the fleas you should speak to your vet and get some stuff to treat your home for the fleas as well as the dogs. the vet will tell you a safe product to use. |
Welcome to YT and congrats on your new babies :) |
Hi there and welcome, looking forward to pics of your furkids.... |
Takes time. Yorkies are creatures of habit and when you change that up, they can show their disdain for the change. But eventually, unless he is like my Jilly, he will start to show some interest and then play and then love his sister. I got Jilly a little companion Yorkie and she took to the back of the den couch where she stayed until I rehomed Teddy about 2 mos. later after Jilly had lost weight and hair! The moment the new owners left with Teddy, Jilly came down from the back of the couch and resumed her regular life. My Tibbe would LOVE brothers or sisters! He LOVES other dogs. I think most Yorkies are not like Jilly but love companions with 4 legs. |
Welcome. Yeah it just takes time for the dogs to bind. Most of the time it works out so let's hope it does for you as well. |
Thanks to everyone :DI really appreciate the replies, and I do hope it all works out for us..As for the flea problem, i have contacted the vet about the care needed for the babies, cosmo takes a flea pill monthly so he is protected. I also have an exterminator coming over today, just as precaution.. Some say its a slim chance the fleas has traveled any farther than the puppies, but as concerned as I am about my fur babies, I am also concerned about myself and the well-being of my two legged babies as well.. I have pics posted of my babies, where they would be stored for viewing is still a process I would have to learn while using this site. Again thanks to everyone! |
Well hope your boy accepts his sisters soon and become one big happy brood of fun. |
Sibling n da making!! I do as well. It would hurt to know my hubby and kids spent all of their money ($2400) on a late Valentines but early bday gift for me only to have it rejected by my 3.08lb fury baby boy.. |
Welcome to YorkieTalk! Congratulations on your new additions! It will take time, but your male will eventually accept them. You should post some pictures of your pack... we love pictures! |
