I had the same problem with my family.. All I would hear was "she bring those dogs everywhere she goes", but IDK anyone who wud leave their kids home alone..When I was younger I had relationships that ended because they treated me very well, but treated my fury babies like DOGS when I wasnt around!! Family and friends thought I would change after I had kids, but the love only grew stronger because I wanted my kids to appreciate the value of taking care of someone other than just themselves, and recieving that love back UNCONDITIONALLY..My husband was not an animal lover, but he knew my babies meant alot to me so in the brgining he accepted it, now he loves them just as much.. Dont worry about wut ppl have to say about you or ur babies, at the end of the day ur babies will love u, for loving them just that much!!

Often those people who use the phrase "just dogs" are the ones who see dogs as situational companions and their continued existence in the family is based solely on convenience. Once the dog needs extra care, money spent on it for a health problem or develops a behavioral problem of any kind, just turn it out or drop it by the shelter and move on. That is the attitude of so many dog owners who are not true dog lovers and those same type of people are largely responsible for the disgrace of the millions of stray/abused and neglected dogs in this country. Dogs are on just about equal par with goldfish in their minds and they will usually never advance much in their attitudes throughout their lives. Most of them are just missing the "dog gene" that dog lovers have and have no clue what dogs can be really like as friends, companions and true family members. And if you try to explain your relationship with your dog to them or why he is so important in your life, they look at you as if you just sprouted an eggplant from your forehead. They don't and will never get it.

So, try not to let those people concern you and love and enjoy your dog to the hilt. You, a true dog lover, are the fortunate one - your life enriched beyond measure by the treasure of feelings and experiences your dog and you share now and forever.

My brother told me that Georgie would take a back seat when we had our son....Isaiah is 4 1/2 now and that has never happened. I don't understand how people don't make the time. We both work full time so we are very busy people but nothing has ever changed our love for our furbabies. My husband and I both love Georgie and Coco (our Boxer) so much and now Isaiah does too:) It warms my heart when he goes up and starts talking to Coco and she sleeps in his bed with him. I think it's such a good way to teach children love and compassion and just how to care about all the wonderful things life has to offer like sweet furbabies:D I know Isaiah would play with Georgie but Georgie has no interest in Isaiah LOL.

To the OP again don't worry about what people say. Enjoy every moment with your furbabies and know that your life is better for it:)
