I'm envious of the meet ups you are all describing! We don't have enough yorkie owners around here to warrant a meet up. I wish I lived in a bigger city :p

I live just south of downtown. Like 5 minutes from downtown.

I grew up on the west side. Then in high school moved west of Indy, Now I'm out here in western IN. LOL

Our weight limit is about 14 pounds. But we do allow a little bigger if it is really really calm tempered. :) the biggest in our group right ow is a silky yorkie mix and it is 12 pounds. I want to go to the new Indy meetup group!

I wish we had something like that around here.. Boy my babies and i would appreciate the outing and the thought of having something to look forward to that is centered around them.. For our little furbies that isnt an everyday thing.

do you have three yorkies, if so everyday must be a meetup:D

Well tomorrow we are off for our 2 hour drive each way for our meetup, my friends think I am crazy and thankfully my DH works on Saturday so he does not really know what I am up to;):) Having just the one (no I do not want any more) I make more of an effort for Lola to have a good time. She loves the meetups and runs around like crazy, her BFF Bella will be there and those two gals play hard, I find it funny that they see each other just once a month but regardless of how many other dogs are there they somehow find each other again and it's like the other dogs hardly exist. Sadly several of the dogs spend the whole meetup on their owner's lap. Lola just about ignores me at the meetups, she gives me a look when we arrive like see ya later Mom and don't dare embarrass me by trying to pick me up:D and like the country song Tequila makes her Clothes Come Off, mid way through the party her dress is either hanging off her or missing. I think if she just wanted to spend the meetup on my lap I would not bother going. I will try to get some good pictures.

yes i do have 3 furbies, and its pretty busy around here sometimes but i'm use to it.. ive always had furbies in my home..i wish someone would start a yorkie get together near me.. i would gladly help with that.. gud luck tho, i wish ya'll all the best.. take alot of pic so i can see, plz..

yes and if you want to start something please search for other threads started by me and you will see how it was discussed in the past. I don't know you and you don't know me, but I will tell you I am my own person, and not you, not Tanisha or anyone else will tell me who to be friends with and what groups to join. this thread was started to ask questions about other meetup groups, because I am thinking of starting one in the northern suburbs of Detroit (Oakland County area) and to discuss what goes on at meetups. It's not to promote or recruit anyone to the group I am in. I hope posters will try to respect that intention and stay somewhat on point. Of course if a desire to start a new group in your area develops on this thread like with the Indy folks, feel free to match make here:aimeeyork:D:aimeeyork

These groups sound like so much fun. I wish there was a meet up group in my area. If any Toronto or GTA people know of one let me know ;)

Well I can only hope that your intent is to form a group not associated with this PIECE OF TRASH breeder and not promote her as a decent person. Have you seen or heard of what she has done in the past? I want to vomit just thinking about the pain and suffering that she has caused to her poor tiny puppies and her lack of moral or breeding ethics.

For anyone reading who does not know about Tanisha Breton and her inhumane and cruel treatment to her BREEDING ethics take a look at this link and see for yourself. Her behavior even caught the attention of members of the YTCA and show breeders who breed responsibly.
