All about walking? So how often do you walk your yorkies and how long for? Where is your favourite place to walk? What lead/harness/collar do you use? |
We try to walk at least 5 days a week. Typically we go for at least an hour - generally about 2 miles, I'd say. He can go more tho. We've gone up to 5 miles or something like that. We use Buddy Belt harness or Puppia and he's got like a gazillion collars and tags we choose from, LOL. When we do our typical "walk" I usually drive him up to the park where there's nice walking trails; as we live on 3 acres. But when we don't do our short leashed walks, we usually are either running, swimming, dog parks, etc, or going for "hikes" in the 90 acres of farmland behind us. |
We for at least two 30 minutes walks most days. I use a Buddy Belt for walks |
we walk maybe 45 min each day.....through the Gunstock Campground or in our back yard trail. they both have lupine harnesess and leashes. |
Daily we walk for 30 mins at the local park. We participate in organized dog walks also and they are a mile or 2. I use step in harnesses and a petsmart lead |
Amount 30 minutes or more a day. We walk 2 different routes and she knows her way back home. The reason I know this is because she walks in front of me and guides me back home. She even knows which house is ours. I use just the run of the mill harness. |
We normally take our kids out 4-5 times a day on their leads and walk them around the big grassy area in front of our house for about 15-20 minutes each time and through the week they get to go to the dog park when their dad gets home for lunch for about 20 minutes. Our lil girl had surgery for lcp and she can't walk more than 15-20 minutes each time otherwise her hip bothers her. Depending on how much their dad runs them around the dog park playing chase depends on if she gets carried back or not. For harnesses we use the kong x-small ones from petsmart. They are the only ones my picky lil girl will walk in. We have tried 2 different step in harnesses because she has a partially collapsed trachea and she will sit and refuse to walk. I put the kong one on that sits on the shoulder and around the middle and she loves to walk now. |
Not enough as I would like. When the weather warms up and the storms clear, the girls are due for many walks. I must stress on a flea preventative, my 2 got the itchy from a dog park last year. |
