Flea prevention and FIRST WALK :-) Hi, i was wondering what do u think is the best flea medicine? My baby Spartacus is about 8months old i just recently got him fully vaccinated. I am happy about that so now i am wondering what is the best way to keep fleas off him because he has never had any as far as i know and i want to try and keep it that way. ;) Also he is terrified to go outside! I don't know how to prepare him for his first walk all suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks Guys :aimeeyork |
We use frontline. |
We use Bio Spot. We buy it at Atwoods. Works good on both our babies, Mrs. Beasley (Yorkie) and Molly Mae (the Bloodhound). We also treat our yard with flee and tick granules once a month. |
I used the Advantage II last year and it worked very well. |
I use Frontline Plus and it works for us... |
Frontline Plus seems to work. |
My vet recommened "Revolution" for him as a pup. It is also a heartworm preventative and comes in liquid form. There is another brand that comes in pill form (which I cannot remember) that comes in pill form for dogs 5lbs and over. He said that he is getting a lot of cases where dogs are coming in flea infested and they use Frontline or Advantage. I guess the fleas are starting to out smart us! ;) |
Frontline dosent work here for ticks so I use Advantix and it works great! |
i use Revolution for oscar & Advantix II for my bigger dogs |
Put the harness and leash on him and let him walk around the house to get him ready for walks |
yes as chachi says practice in the house and use happy rewarding words so he knows he is doing a good job. i can remember the first time i harnessed up cedric he just stood and looked at me like what and the leash...oh it was priceless. good luck hell get it practice makes perfect. love his name btw. i cannot use any flea meds on my cedric he gets very sick so just watch him closely after applying your first dose. all my other furr butts get advantix ii which has worked here in the woods so far. |
