Help!!! Okay... so I just caught Brody humping Sophia... TWICE!!!:eek::eek: The worst part about it is afterwards... they both had there tongues sticking out and looked all happy :eek::eek: She was spayed a while back, so obviously I'm not worried about pregnancy. I'd tried to explain to him that it's her sister... but he just didn't get it . But I thought males humped females in heat (and she's obviously not in heat) I'm going to get him neutered, but I wanted to wait until he is a bit older!! I'm just so confused!!! |
I have heard people say animals only breed to procreate. I wonder ? Rubin is 9 years old and was neutered at 6 months old. He did the deed with Gracie when we first got her. I had to 'No, No' him for a few weeks. When Ginny Joy had her first heat he paid no attention at all. |
I too have wondered about that Teresa, I had Yoshi, peke neutered at 5 months and then a few years ago my aunt gave me her peke, Pebbles that had been spayed. Well they got along fine but my daughter wanted to take Pebbles home with her and she is happy there now but when we get them together Yoshi will not leave her alone, he humps her endlessly and we have to keep them separated at the groomers for this very reason. Some have said it was dominance issued and I have seen this with dogs and it usually doesn't last but this humping is actually trying to do the deed. |
My Peek a Boo, who has been neutered since before I got him at 5 yo, now 15 yo, still humps my cat, lol. I think it's just a Yorkie thing. Even my girls hump stuff, their beds and some toys and sometimes me! |
Yoshi has been so bad that we call him Sir HumpsALot...yes I have heard of girls doing this too. |
LOL, humping is NOT just a sex thing, is a DOMINANCE thing also, is their way of establishing who is the strong leader in the pack, when Harrison was about 9 months old he tried humping my leg, I very gently laid him down on the floor put my hand in his neck and held him there for a few minutes, while I growled at him, I was letting him know, OH NO, I am the pack leader boo boo, you might hump the lesser females of the pack but don't you get fresh with me, LOL that was the cure, up to this day, he is 8 years old, he had NEVER hump my leg again, but since he was my stud for 8 years , he still chases the girls and tries to get them, he was neutered two months ago, so now is just a I am still the MAIN Stud here, when daddy and mommy are not home..LOL |
My 3 year old has started humping my 9 week old (not hurting him) both males, and the 9 week old has started humping stuffed animals. Im assuming its a dominance thing here. my 3 year old has a history of humping other male dogs, he is also quite the little pack leader  |
Picture this our 4lb Yorkie humping our 75lb Boxer's nose! He has been neutered since age 2 (he is 6) and she has been spayed since 2 (she is 12). So not only does Georgie hump his sister but she is very much his senior LOL. I think it's a dominance thing but I could be wrong. |
Wow. I have had male dogs since I was a kid and never had any of them mark or hump. I have seen the behavior a few times in other dogs but I hear a lot about it here on YT. Are male Yorkies more prone to humping and marking? I'm almost afraid to get a male Yorkie because I don't want to worry about having those issues. |
If its any consolation to you, I once had a masturbating cat who was neutered. He used to get it on with my socks too:D. |

Harry tried it. just the once, to hump my sons foot when he came over for a visit. I said 'NO' in a very sharp voice - he stopped, and has never done it again. The same happened with marking - he tried it in my mothers kitchen - I said a stern 'NO' and put him straight outside - and he's never done that again, either....:) Sally + Harry x |
With my little guy he does it when he gets over stimulated. For instance if the neighbors dogs come over they are loud and runn every where. Then he does it to the bed in the living room...At Christmas there was too many people in the house and he did it. I have learned he like a calmer place. |
