♥♥♥ Beautiful Or Cute? Which Do You Prefer??? ♥♥♥ We all know the ideal Yorkshire Terrier is a beautiful dog but occasionally some of the pet quality dogs from reputable breeders are awfully cute. All other things being equal and money aside, just talking pure preference here, which steals your heart ♥ when you are choosing a young Yorkie - the one that holds the promise of one of those silky beauties or the little cutey? :yorkieg::yorkiej: |
Definitely a little cutey for me. I never thought of having a show dog I just wanted a little sweet faced boy which is exactly what I got:D |
Well, you definitely got a little cutey! |

But with my girl's now they are both beautiful and cute. |
i think my boy is beautiful and cute.. |
I think all Yorkies are beautiful and cute..but I love to say "too cute" or "too stinking cute", I would always think of that as a compliment. |
While I love those beautiful wonders of Yorkshire Terrier perfection, I must say I prefer a cute dog myself. But those lovely ideally conformed dogs with the gorgeous expression and athletic terrier bodies flowing with seeming yards of silken coat are wonderful to behold. |
I think they are all beautiful and cute! :D:D I think it is just the love of the breed for me. I always use the word pretty to describe my girls. :p Both of mine fell in my lap. I didn't get to go pick one out. But that is ok with me. They are both gorgeous in my eyes. :) |
I tend to think of long haired dogs with a full coat are more beautiful and regal in pictures, but when you see them in action, they are cute as a button. Short haircuts tend to look more "cute" than beautiful in pictures to me. A dog that is beautiful can look cute, and I really think a cute dog can look beautiful in some pictures, especially action shots. I urge people to support reputable breeders NOT because I believe they need a beautiful dog, but I believe reputable breeders produce dogs that are more likely to be healthy and also LOOK like a Yorkie! |
I love both beautiful and cute. I would be happy with either one. :) |

I'm with Nancy...I tend to think of long flowing coats as beautiful yorkies and short puppy cuts as cute yorkies. My personal preference is the beautiful ones. I absolutely love a long coat...so, of course, with Murphy's Law being what it is, ZoE has the most incredibly SLOW growing hair :(. So, I'm not sure how many YEARS it's going to take us to achieve a full flowing coat...might have to look into yorkie hair extensions :D |
Cute always won me over all of my life!:) |
Levi is cute as a button and completely owns my heart. I think "beautiful" and I think show dog, not my wild messy boy that likes to roll around in mud. :p |
Oh...beatitful/cute, I wanted a beautiful steel coat, not to light nor dark, but ......that's not what I got;). Out of 5 puppies...they all got beautiful flowing coats and my girl got the throw back cotton coat, go figure, LOL. Now, I look at her and can't imagine not having my black coated girl...I love her to pieces:thumbup:...she stole our hearts on the first hug and kissie:D |
Beauty or Cutie ? This is an interesting question. I would like to have a Yorkie that was the epitome of the AKC standard. That would be beautiful to me. But, I think my Rubin is beautiful too. Rubin is very far from the physical coat requirements of the AKC standard. But he has a wonderful bone structure, a regal and graceful strut, and the proud confident head toss of a champion. (his parents were both show dogs) My little rescue Gracie is adorable and totaly cute. She has a long silky coat if allowed to grow out but, her face is not beautiful, she is cute. Abba boy is tiny, very elfish, and cute as a button. Ginny Joy is very pretty and may grow up to be beautiful. So I guess my answer is; I prefer Yorkies to be beautiful, but a cute Yorkie is also irresistible. OK ALL RIGHT, I admit it ! I love them ugly, old and toothless too ! It is that Yorkie spirit I adore. |
Well said about the Yorkie spirit! It is the breed's greatest charm, to me. But you don't have a "look" preference? This is just for fun to see what look this community prefers in picking a young dog. |
I think that as puppies they are all little cuties. As they mature the long coat is beautiful when well kept. Gracie's coat is mostly grown out now after a couple of groomer hatchet jobs. I think she is a cute little beauty. I have a friend that has a male that she keeps in a puppy cut and female that she keeps in full coat. They are an adorable pair. He looks just like his personality.....a little dickens! She looks like a little fashion model but can be just as outgoing in personality as her brother. It is just hysterical to watch them play together out in the yard. |

I know a beautiful young AKC ideal Yorkie can look cute too but if you had the pick of a young dog that was more lovely and beautiful than frankly cute(say very baby-faced or elfin-looking with curly, cottony-coated), which do you prefer? |

I can't resist either! :D Beautiful is cute and cute is beautiful :D :D I don't have a preference, but when they are puppies I think they are ALL cute !♥ |
I like cute and perfect |
Cute!!! No offense to those with full-coated show-type Yorkies of course. I mean I do think they are beautiful. Just not my type of dog. I am so glad I ended up with a BYB Yorkie who is not the standard, lol. I know that sounds terrible but most Yorkies that I know are purebred and in standard are not my type. So I definitely ended up with the perfect dog for me. Most likely will have a Silky for my second. |
I am a sucker for those long flowing silk coats and beautiful faces..! |
