New to this Hi I'm new to this place. I hope that I am posting this in the proper spot. I just got my little boy about tree weeks ago, and he has been so much fun. I am taking him to be groomed for the first time this week and I am so excited. I have never had a Yorkie before. All I've had is Golden Retrievers. They are so different in so many ways. Not just in size. :) What a sweet little guy! |
If he's a puppy, has he had all of his shots. Usually you don't want to expose a puppy that hasn't been inoculated against all the dread diseases to a groomer's shop full of other dogs. Yorkies are such a special breed to me! Different than all other breeds and I am sure you will bond so closely with him it will scare you how much you adore him!!! They get right under your skin, these little Yorkies! |

Welcome to YorkieTalk and congrats! Please make sure he has all of his shots before you take him to the groomer or he could get very sick. |

Welcome to YT Roarrysmom! Yorkies are amazing dogs! Just a word of warning, he is going to worm his way into your heart!! :D:D And you will forever be a Yorkie owner!! Congrats on being a new Yorkie owner! |
Thank you all. I gues I was assuming that they would sanitize the work space and imp implements between clients. I'm a hair stylist and that is state board law for me. I have been very careful in all other situations with infection cautions. I guess asking around isn't enough to really know. I'll wate. It's only a few more weeks. Better safe than sorry!!! |
Welcome to YT! We're doing the shot waiting game also, lol, we so want to take her on walks and outings, but waiting for Gypsy to be totally protected. Also we want to sign up for some puppy training! Argh, I can't wait!! |
Some disease bugs are airborne or come from other dog's sneezing, etc., that could take place contemporaneously in the cleanest of rooms. A tick, for instance, can crawl from one dog's cage to another over a relatively germ-free surface. A young dog often hasn't built up much of his own immunity as I understand and can contract illnesses or parasites from another dog in the room for which there is no vaccine. I would protect him for now until your vet clears him for public socialization. |
We will absalutely wate! For puppy kindergarten they want our vet to fax over the information on his vaxination history. They say that as long as they have had there first two parvo and I can't remember the other one, that they take them in that class. The vet knew who I was talking about and thinks the place is good and used them with her puppy. She thinks it's safe at that place. What do you think? |
Welcome to YT. I guarantee that your yorkie will steal your heart if you allow him to (if he hasn't already). I love my three and can't imagine my life w/o a yorkie! |
