Babydoll Face :animal36 What does it mean if someone says they have a babydoll face yorkie? |
Babt doll face: Large eyes, short nose. |
There's no official definition, just as there is no official definition for teddy bear faces and teacups. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America forbids it's breeders to use these terms on their websites, because they are marketing terms and not terms written into standard. I believe only bad breeders use the terms just to sell dogs. |
Sometimes it's a way of "trying" to explain what the puppy or dog looks like. My little Azrael has a "teddy bear" look to her. ;) |
Okay i see. I have defently seen some with the teddy bear like face they're too cute!! |

It mostly pertains to the snout area, the shorter the snout the more babydoll type face it has. If you look at a Yorkie sideways you will see all different length snout/nose areas. The standard for show yorkies leans toward a shorter snout but not pushed in like a s**tzu, or with bulging eyes. Breed standard yorkies should be petite dogs and that does not just mean in weight but also in body parts, like the snout, the ears, the head, the leg length etc. (I don't mean micro mini petite either). There are few websites that I have seen that push this babydoll look to an extreme but I also think some of their pictures are photo shopped. And as others have said if you see the words babydoll, teacup, toy, etc in an ad for a yorkie that is just a description not a breed. |
