My baby is so sad Little Winnie got spayed today... now she just looks so sad and she's all whiny its making me want to cry! I know she's ok.. but i just feel so awful seeing her like that. :(:( |
I am sorry that Winnie is sad. She should feel some what better by tomorrow. I hope they gave you some pain pills to bring home for her. |
Aww, I'm sorry... It's hard to see them like that. By tomorrow she should be feeling a lot better. |
They did give her some pain pills thankfully! I'm just paranoid cuz a few months ago we had a female rabbit and got her spayed and she passed away a few days later. I know its totally diferent with a dog. She is eating and waging her tail now, still whining but if her tail is wagging it can't be all that bad! lol They took come baby teeth out too so i'm having to make her food all mushy so she can eat it! yuck |
They can be so pitiful after they're spayed. She should feel much better tomorrow. |
I am sure she will be much better tomorrow. Poor baby. |
Just seen this and I know she will be better today, they are tougher than we think.. |
Gracie Ruth was like that her first day home. I spent the entire day on the couch just holding her and scratching her ears. Her little whines were so pitiful. I fixed her a scrambled egg and a some mashed potato. I hand fed her each bite. It made both of us feel better. :p The next day I was having to box her in the kitchen because she was wanting to run and play with Boo. |
Hope she is better today! |
Checking on Winnie...hope she is better today! :) |
My heart goes out to you and hope she is better today :) |
Thanx guys, she is doing much better though she is still finding it very difficult to eat and drink with that thing on her head. I've actually had her drinking water out of a glass instead of a water dish but its ok, I love her i'll do whatever it takes! She hasn't even tried taking the thing off yet. My only concern is that its not 24 hours later and she still hasn't pooped. I know she hasn't eaten much but she should have pooped by now right?? I give her til tomorrow morning and i'm calling the vet. Unless you guys tell me its normal :) |

Poor Winnie! Hope she gets to feeling better soon! |
I hope she is feeling better today. It took Bailey a couple of days after they removed his "manhood", But he was romping around like nothing happened about 2 days after. |
Everytime Brandi has had surgery, it always took her a couple of days to poop. |
Woohoo she pooped!! And looks like she's doing much much better!! Thanx for all the positive feedback you guys are great! |
Good girl! So glad she is coming around and starting to return to normal. You will probably be plesantly excited by how much better she acts tomorrow and the next day and then before you know it, she will be 6 weeks post-op and you won't believe where the time went and you will be soooo glad it is all long behind you. |
I still find it interesting that so many of the spays have to wear those crazy collar things. I was told not to bother because most of the time they don't bother the incision and just to get one if she did. I never saw her pay it any attention. I suppose if there are stitches she could pull on it would be good to have, but Maggie's were tight and close. The collar probably causes MORE anxiety. I don't think a little licking hurts it...but a lot would or pulling on a loose stitch. Maggie did so well it made me wonder why I had worried so much about getting it done. |
We never had to do the collar thing either. It is amazing how quickly they recover from the surgery. Best wishes. |
Jilly only tried once or twice to sniff at her incision and as I was there with her, I just told her "no" and she stopped, so we needed no collar. Same with Tibbe and his neuter - just told him "no" if he seemed interested in it. As far as Jilly's neuter, I had her surgery done on Thursday, she stayed in the hospital that night and I picked her up Friday after work so I had that night and that weekend to watch her and keep her from her incision, which was pretty tiny and I think was glued closed. I don't recall stitches. By the following Monday, she wasn't even apparently noticing it and appeared to be back to most of her normal activities. Tibbe only gave his incision a sniff and that seemed to be that so am so glad he didn't have a collar either. |
Just tried taking the colar off for a few minutes and the first thing she did was stick her in to scratch! Guess its staying on! Little stinker! |
That's a sign that it is healing.:) |
Awwwwweeee. We hope Winnie feels better soon. My little guy hasn't gone through that yet and I am dreading the day! Best wishes! |
