Introduction Hello, my name is cclexxus4 and am a mother to a 6mth old yorkie named Tucker. I have had Tucker since he was 3 mths old and am learning as I go as he is my first yorkie. He is such a joy and pleasure to be around, but definately has na attitude!! I think he believes he is head of the household!! Tucker is teething and has lost all his lower front teeth but one and that sure looks funny, he is getting his top 2 teeth but hasn't lost the baby ones yet. He is always chewing or biting which the biting is getting alittle hard on the hands and fingers or anything he finds on the floor. Potty training I find is alittle difficult although he does well when we are home, but he uses his crate while we are at work. If any of you can offer any info I would greatly appreciate it, I have already learned from some of you just by reading your posts. I am very glad I found Yorkie talk!! |
Hello, and welcome. Some Yorkies have a hard time losing their baby teeth. Do you have something like a Bully Stick for him to chew on? If there are any baby teeth left when he is old enough to be neutered the vet can remove them then. Is your crate big enough fora place for a pee pad? He is young and should not be crated for long periods of time. |
Welcome. Others here have more experience that I do and will give you great suggestions. I have only raised two Yorkies Hope you enjoy YT :D |
Welcome! |
Yes his crate is big and I do put a potty pad in there for him and he uses it sometimes but he has gotten to the point now where he waits until we get home, but sometimes he still has an accident. He is getting better about letting us know when he needs to go out. |
