Help! Sores! Hi Everyone! I do have an appointment at my vet Monday afternoon, that's the earliest we could get in....but Tank developed a sore yesterday on his lower belly area, and I checked him as soon as we woke up this morning and he has developed another one on the inside of his upper leg, both on his right side...he does lick a lot but mostly his paws and I always redirect him when he does this, unless he licks constantly at night idk if his licking is enough to have given him two sores. I just wanted to know if there's anything I could do between now and Monday afternoon to help my little guy out I feel awful he must be uncomfortable, any ideas or advice is very appreciated! Thanks!! |
I would have the vet check him, but in the meantime, do you an onesie or Pj's that will cover the area that you can put on him to discourage licking and agravating it? hugs, |
depends are they just red?? sometines i use neosporine..you could try a lil bit if you have some and watch closely to see if it add more irratation or helps. |
be careful that he does NOT lick the neosporin, is not good for them to lick that stuff.. hugs, |
I dont own any onesies but I will go out and get one if it will help him! One is red and one looks almost like its blistered if you know what I mean? It's a little whitish....I am home with him all day and I've never seen him lick down there longer than a few seconds, and hasn't at all yet today...thanks so much for the quick responses!! |
actually never used it on cedric only princess. and she has a cone i put on her when i do. and its only been once but it helped. |
I put a tiny bit of coconut oil or emu oil...neither will hurt them if they lick it. Coconut oil is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, etc. I give mine coconut oil as treats, too. Good luck! :D |

Neosporin is okay to use until you get it looked at. Probably no big deal, but obviously needs to be seen. Onesie or e-collar to prevent licking. |
