Another Pee Pad thread...WASHABLE After reading endlessly on YT about the washable vs disposable...I splurged and purchased the washable at PETCO ..Pooch Pads Let me just say I Litter Box (with pads) for many reasons. I strongly hesitated on the washable..I love the convenience of disposable and especially the cleanliness. Forget about it, washable beats all. I have 2 Yorkies right now, one a puppy. I was spending muccccchhhhh time changing pads. Not now. NO tracking, NO smell, No dirty feet, this is one of those to good to be true products for me! When they poop I simply pick it up toss it in toilet and give a quick wipe to the area on the pad (makes me feel better). I just can't say enough about them. I change them every morning (3 boxes 1 for each and a "community" box) and omg I feel like I won something!!! I just ordered some from a vendor here and will let ya know how they are when I receive them. YTers keep sharing those great tips! Thank You!!! |
So glad you made the switch! Joey would never go more than once on a disposable, even the extra-large size, and it seemed like such a waste, but he's much better on the washables. I really think they are so much better for the environment too, that's a lot of plastic for just a little dog urine. Disposables are great for emergencies, and I still use them for traveling or visiting. |
congrats, washables are super I been using them for years.. I only use disposable the first few days of a litter to keep the mama's mess off the babies.. after about a week i go back to my trusty washable.. shamefully I own about 50...LOL hugs, |
I use washables too the disposable ones are so expensive |
I use washable for my crew... I love them. |
A disposable looks like a big kleenex tissue to Gracie - shred city :D I was spending so much time trying to make sure they were locked tight into the plastic holder that it just wasn't worth it. The washables are great - and I don't have any leakage on the carpet at all. |
Love washable pads!!! |
You will never go back! :D |
I'm intrigued by the potential cost savings, but I have some questions. What do you do with the washables in between the time you pick them up and when you wash a load? Does the urine smell get stronger as they collect? |
for me I keep them for only one day in a baby diaper pail, and every other day I do a load, I keep the pail in the laundry room and it does not smell since it is made for dirty diapers...LOL |
