This is horrible. People have got to stop robbing houses and stealing peoples dogs. Jewelry and tvs are one thing but this just breaks my heart and especially so close to home...

I hate to hear this. Every time I hear stories like this I am once again so thankful the jerks who robbed our house didn't take my Rosie. I hope they find the Yorkie soon and it is returned to its owner.

Oh man. I remember telling my mom this recently. I said, "If I ever get robbed I don't care what materialistic things they take. I can re-buy them. They just better not steal the Poopoos!"

You are very, very fortunate. Taking a beloved family pet is cruel. I'm so sad for the family of the pup. :(

God, that's just awful... I hate hearing about stuff like this. Many years ago when we had our Bichon, I heard about a nearby theft of someone's Bichon who was stolen out of his crate in someone's car. :/ I couldn't imagine if someone kidnapped Zeus or Ody...

On a side note, I have friends that live in Simpsonville... pretty small world.

The police told us that we were lucky they didn't take her. I think they were surprised honestly she was still there. This poor family. It is bad enough what you go through after being robbed but to have to deal with losing your pet as well is just terrible.

I feel so bad for this family. When we came home from dinner last year and found our house broken into that was my first thought-where are my dogs. Thankful they were in the house but the thieves couldn't figure out how to open the gate that keeps them in the family room so they ripped it out of the wall to grab my husband's laptop. They took all my jewelry (by the way-if you have any jewelry please take pictures and put them in a safe place. It's very hard trying to describe). We have an alarm system now because if anything ever happened to them I don't know what I'd do.

Oh my gosh! You were lucky too that your pups were still there. They left our door open also when we were broke into. Luckly Rosie was scared and stayed inside. I lost all my jewelry too. I am not even sure if I put down everything because you are right, it is hard to remember it all. Especially when you are upset. We too have an alarm system now. Good advice.

Put your good jewelry in a nice jewelry bag and put it under the sink in the bathroom. They wont look there.

It is a very scary thing to think that someone would steal a family pet.

I guess people who steal dogs have never had a dog and there love before and they see dogs as a way to make money plus they are just cruel. Not only does it hurt who they took the dog from but it hurts the dog too.

These people don't care. If they had any morals they wouldn't be breaking in and robbong people.

I live on Long Island and just heard that a yorkie was stolen from their van and they are so heartbroken and offering at $2,500 reward.
So sad to hear this and I would never leave my baby in a car even for a minute.
Not judging but there are a lot of crazy people out there who are stealing yorkies.

this is horrible!!!!!!!!!! this is like kidnapping a child!!!!i hope karma gets these horrible people that do such disguisting things like steal someones furbaby!!! they must be so heartbroken, pray they find her, and the thief pays for this!there needs to be more punishment for monsters that steal peoples dogs!

Have a heavy floor safe bolted to the floor in one of the closets. I doubt they would spend too much time trying to figure out how to get into that.

Well, they took the time to find something strong enough to use to bust down our safe room door. :(:( They are more experienced than you think. This door is made of steel. But didn't stop them. It looked like they used something hard and hit the door until the lock busted. They usually work in more "packs" too. So while one is doing the gathering the other could work on opening up something.

The only time I set my burglar alarm is when the dogs are home and I'm either sleeping or out without them.

I just saw on the news that they found their dog "baily" wondering and someone turned her in. They have her back home! Maybe the dog walked out of a left open door during the heist.

News said the person that took her probably let her go, she was found wondering near a Chineese restaurant. Said she was very far from her home. Glad she is back safe and sound:)

It's so sad that people take pets... We were robbed over Christmas break this year and thankfully we were out of town with the dogs. They took a lot, but they didn't get my babies and they are what really matters to me. My world would end if they were taken :(
