Pee pads When I'm home - my pup has somewhat free run of the house -- but he does tend to stay wherever I am in the house. My question is - is there any reason I can't have a pee pad in several different areas. One in my office and one by each of his two beds in other areas of the house, for instance. He uses his one pad quite a bit, but sometimes I think he is just far enough away that he doesn't bother. So, I think having a couple of others available might be helpful. I do run him to his "main pad" about once an hour just to see if he has to go, and sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. If he's napping near it, he often uses it. What do you think? We encourage our girls to go outside through the doggie door.....but we also have a pad down in the back part of the house and one by each door in the front of the house.....for when we are not there and the doggie door is closed or if it is an "emergency" and they can not wait to go outside. It works for us.....the only thing we have learned is if you try to pick one of them up and do away with that option....we still find accidents where the pad was taken up from. Good luck! |

I put several pee pads down for Miko...He has two in the living room and one by the bathroom. Then at night, we keep one in our room just in case he has to go in the middle of the night, but he usually doesn't like to use the pad in the room for some reason. There's nothing wrong with putting down severals pee pads...We started Miko on the pee pads because we used to live on the 3rd floor of an apt. building and with as often as these guys pee when they're little, it was terrible to go up and down the stairs so many times! :) |
I also have several down and she use all of them depending on where in the house she is when she has to go! |
I have several down in the room that we are in whether its the living room the kitchen or our bedroom we always have them down just incase they have an emergency. |
I am thrilled to learn that many of you have several pee pads around your house and - and your dogs are often using them. Thanks for all your replies. Carol Jean |
Shelby has two. I used to have one in the den but took it out and she remembers it being there, makes mistakes there now. I put another one out when doggy friends are over. Works out great for them but confuses the heck out of her :( Put them where you plan on leaving them forever. |
I have several pee pads placed in the house . |

Shelby is only wee pad trained so not much help with other ways. I confined her to a certain area around a wee pad. When I saw her use it I did cartwheels ;) and gave her a treat. when she used it more, and no mistakes I gave her more area. She has been very good since around 5 months...until I started confusing her moving wee pads around. |
I have 4 in the living room, 2 iin the kitchen two in the bathroom...3 downstairs in the family room and the pups still manage to find the regular floor to go on...gggrrrrr.. |
